He is referring to a problem that is only seen with "High Dynamic Range" set to "Full (if available*)" This problem makes the floor unnaturally bright and makes it difficult to see. I don't play with HDR so I never encountered this problem playtesting.
Disable HDR in your advanced graphics options for now. This will fix the unnatural vibrancy of the map. I'm working on an update increasing detailing and I will look into why HDR is having problems as well.

+1 Nothing more dissatisfying than having to type "retry" in console so your Hale round wasted because your partner is AFK or doesn't know what the hell is going on. RIP points and have fun sitting the round in spec.
While I agree the winter version is better, the issue with the map is that it's simply too big. It takes too long for rounds to play out and its easy for people to hide among the trees. Not to mention the winter version is night mode and there's even less visibility.
While I don't know personally how it's done, you could look up videos along the lines of "Random Logic in Hammer Editor" to find an answer. You could also do as I like to do when faced with a question, decompile the map you're curious about and dissect the inner-workings for yourself.
While I think pyro is a little weak in the damage dealing department, I don't think they need a buff at all. They fit a play style and can still be used effectively when applied to a situation correctly. -1
