Just wondering who else out there plays Civ V. Maybe we can set up games.

Playing a 12 civ game right now on Prince level as Russia. Rolled, a random world and got archipelagos. No Iron or Horses in my starting area. Needless to say it's been slow. I was thinking of a military conquest, but a horseless and ironless Russia isn't exactly great at amphibious landings. Considering this, I've retooled and I'm going to try to for a space victory. It's 1560 AD, but in my late rush to expand my territory to some of the surrounding islands. I had to nip some Mongolians Settlers with a Caravel to insure they didn't jump my claim. So now I'm in a protracted standoff and Genghis doesn't wanna back down. One thing I've got going for me is that my people keep birthing Great Scientist's so I am way ahead in the tech race. I just hope a few cannons and riflemen are enough to turn away a shitload of pointy spears.

Well, hopefully that's enough to get the ball rolling.

I liked CIV 4 more somehow but CIV 5 is ok too. But it's somehow old now. Stopped playing some time ago.

Civ V > Civ IV in terms of the actual gameplay mechanics. I think V just came out at a bad time, I always want to play but then i just end up playing one game all night long.

hexagons and non stacking units are changes for the better. i miss religion though (not that it was well implemented in IV).

Funny thing about the stack of doom is that it was replaced with the wall of howitzers.
