If anything, I'd appreciate a 1~3 month ban instead of a lifetime ban out of the blue.

Hi, sorry for the misunderstanding, it was pretty raunchy to joke around like this, I know, but I am not actually 15. I assumed he knew I wasn’t underage, but he genuinely had no clue, though at a certain point I admitted I am actually 23. Before he said all those things.
Also, I did give some rather questionable responses in return, because I thought it was just stupid

There's @Lala and @agduh who have posted on this thread. They were mentioned in your document, so it would be in appropriate to delete their posts... also, I wouldn't be surprised if Ashar, Mokei & Twigs post here as well.

@Aeryn I did say some lewd things to you, and thought you like the jokes. At least at one point in time you used to.
Would you accept voot's apology and kindly unban? Or at least reduce the punishment to something less than a lifetime ban?

Ashar and I invited voot to play REPO with us last night, we in no way felt voot was being inapropariate. To accuse someone of being a pedo for the submitted chat belittles real offences. Borderline disgusting to read all this. What happens when a real predator strikes and this Boy Who Cried Wolf shit makes us miss it? Were donators, have been for years, but im not paying if this kind of fake pedo accusation can be thrown around and stick. Make this right.

@voot is a lot of things; unfiltered, occasionally abrasive, endlessly annoying, all of the above without question... but I've never once thought he was promoting pedophilia or exhibiting "pedo behavior".

I think a lengthy mute/gag would be a more suitable punishment, a few months without voot telling us how great he is in chat sounds like a dream. But the ban? He's an idiot born with his foot in his mouth, backpedaling as fast as possible, so I do hope you reconsider.

And yes, @Aeryn , I read through your google docs collection on him. Many questionable exchanges, but are we just banning him because he's gotten under your skin more than a few times, or because he has a tendency of flirting with the line between acceptable and unacceptable verbiage? (Understandable, but I believe it's worth considering)

I do not understand why I was mentioned as a victim of harassment by Voot, I feel like that is an overstep by the individual claiming such a thing without first contacting me for my perspective.

Secondly, paedophilia is a federal crime punishable by incarceration and should not be used so flippantly by anyone, on this forum or otherwise.

I suggest an internal review of the admin responsible for putting forth bogus claims and the utilization of a "victim" to justify an unjust ban.

Beyond that, Voot is fine in my books, and should not be on the receiving end of this.

- Lilu from your document commented and clarified that there was a misunderstanding around her age... and only after she discussed her actual age (& pregnancy...) we started joking around... and I took explicit care to not friend her when she sounded like a minor, as highlighted in my previous post...

- Your document highlights age claims... and *no one*, to my knowledge, is required to dox their own age, and plenty of people joke about it already...

Between all of the above, and the 6 other people who have defended me here, whose posts you've deleted, I don't know what the hell you're looking for.
It took us a good month or so, between Poomba, Maverick & Cobra to even get people to show up on US Payload so there would be anyone there for you to even ban. Sorry for helping you populate your servers, my mistake.

I didn't change the reason, but we were told to stick to using one of the predefined ones whenever possible, so I assume that's why it was changed. (Also, "Inappropriate Content" wasn't added as an option until today.)

Also, since I'm here, I'll say that I will prepare a response to you (voot) at some point, but I do not have a significant amount of free time with multiple projects coming due and a disabled senior at home to take care of, so please be patient. In the meantime let me say again that I have not deleted any posts in this thread, and individual users are notified about who deleted their post, and all admins can see that information as well.

Voot doesn't deserve to be banned. I took a look through the google doc and here's my thoughts:

Some of his banter is a bit crass, but to me it just reads as him being playful. A permanent ban should not be the first line of defense against banter that goes too far, and the fact that we're even here talking about this in the context of a permanent ban already has me anxious to be playful in skial's chat.

I won't try to argue whether or not voot's conversation history is appropriate. However, I think we should push back on a permanent ban being the proper response.

How many warnings has voot received for his crass behavior? How many mutes, temp bans, etc has he received for it? There's obviously a pattern here. If he's received multiple verbal warnings, mutes, temp bans, etc for this behavior pattern, then I can see the argument for a permanent ban. But if this behavior pattern has been happening for a while unchallenged, and then suddenly voot is hit with a permanent ban like this, then that is a failure of the skial administration.

Thank you Foomf. By the way, the answer to the last question is zero mutes, zero temp bans for perhaps over a decade if not more.
Up until one mute related to a PG13 word used by Cobra and myself last week, unwittingly that it was a mutable word.
