I was lurking the forums, and started participating in the Voot post about his appeal. Believing it was a bit unfair, and that some-things were taken too far. If not admin abuse.

For years, I have decided to ignore the TF2 community consensus, that there is abusive admins at times.

My comments, and others have been silenced/deleted in voots appeal, to what seems to be doctoring an outcome.

How often has this happened in others posts?
I went as far as adding his thread to the WayBackMachine after seeing comments deleted, so we could have a source of truth, that is immutable, and not questionable, so that no one can lie about it, or fake anything about it. I stated that, and instead my comment was deleted, and now I am no longer able to comment.

This doesnt make me feel good, and welcome to the Skial community, and reinforces the idea that there is an issue from within.

There has been blatant cheaters, friendlies, griefers, and people saying they are using a VPN. On Skial. All against the rules iirc.

Doubling down on the silencing, and deleting of comments, and probably this post as well. Makes that image look worse. I will be adding this post as well to the WayBackMachine.

This community tries to push honesty, and immutable truth. Put your money where your mouth is. Put your ego aside. Be adults about it.

There is a time to rage against the machine…… the guy who made sex jokes about a girl who claimed to be 15 (regardless of her actual age) and dozens of other sexual comments ain’t it. He hasn’t even owned up to it and apologized, he just made a very weak promise to not do it again and asked the ban length to be lowered. But here he is trying to put on a public pressure campaign.

This kind of shit makes it harder for people to fight real admin abuse. Which is admittedly incredibly rare here because reports, appeals, mute, and ban records are open to the public

Any comment that doesn’t further the discussion of an appeal is removed. Metz and I’s comments were removed the same way Voot’s supporters comments were removed and for the same reason.

And stating others are breaking the rules but there is nothing happening isn’t the flex you think it is. Anyone can make reports including you. So if you are seeing stuff and not reporting you’re part of the problem.

So I knew i shouldve addressed it.

The cheaters are rare, but the friendlies, and griefers can actually be fun at times, and everyone should be using a VPN.

Just because im calling out the rule breaking, doesnt mean I agree with them.

Voot should 100% apologize. He should say less.

If you disagree with rules, you can absolutely put a suggestion in to change them. And it’s ethical to put a public pressure campaign to change the rules that you disagree with. See the 40 person population change on payload plus discussion. There have been at least a half dozen roll or procedure changes within skial through the suggestions in the last year. So this is a community that has absolutely shown is open to community suggestions.

I myself put in a suggestion that was wildly unpopular, and down voted heavily by the community.

If you want to allow griefers and friendlies then put it up to a community suggestion and see what support you get. Bring in your friends and press others to support you. That’s perfectly fine.

And VPNs have always been allowed on skial. This tells me you have not read the rules. You just have to have an open Steam profile so the mods can verify it’s over a certain age or if it is a newer profile or a profile you do not want to open. You can simply donate.

You are making vague admin abuse claims while backing nothing up with empirical evidence. This hurts people that are actually trying to make positive changes within skial.

I have seen real admin abuse. I have called it out publicly every time and oddly enough every time my comments were taken into consideration and changes were made. If you really have something you disagree about maybe you should point it out with evidence instead of making these vague claims.

Why are we fighting transparency and muting voices?

If Skial wants to seem as an enterprise, scalable service provider, then it needs to act like it. Keeping everyone's voice heard, and not engaging with side commentary, and just upholding the mute. Support of Voot or not. Whether I agreed with the mute or not.

Here, the suggestions, or profile comments would’ve been the place to do that. People piping in with their opinions that don’t substantively add to the discussion is not the play in an appeal.

You’ve been given free rein to comment here about it. A much better place for his supporters to speak on his character would’ve been his profile. And if someone wanted to change the rules to allow his comments, they could’ve made a suggestion. But this isnt a trial. The admins don’t need character references in an appeal.

I sure was (banned)! And guess what? I was banned for it, won an appeal because of lack of good faith actor.

good to see lucas jumping on the bandwagon and acting as an accessory, it relates to the original post because admins are picking and choosing when they act and when they don't. I'm not going to file a police report because I wasn't the victim I only was one of the dozens who witnessed it in real time, don't be obtuse. I’m down as fuck to take admins down a peg or two when they step out of line. But you guys are getting me all excited over these accusations of admin abuse then letting me down by not posting any evidence.

It ends up looking like a bunch of friends trying to help someone not have to make a proper appeal. He just needs to own up to his actions, apologize, and commit to not doing it again. If anything he appears to be doubling down which makes him look like a liability.

He got banned for it for 1 week because it's disturbing, annoying and I've banned others for the same thing. He got unbanned because he promised not to repeat it which is believable because he has no prior bans or mutes and a long playtime. For the voot ban appeal I have no input. I don't play payload or know these people. But I restored certain comments which were related to the appeal and were deleted in error. But most of the comments are pointless and from third parties

Skial has in the past they dont allow VPNs. Playing on and off since 2013, ive been around the block. So yes, I dont read the rules every time I enter the server. Thats a moot and dead point really.

Yeah, voot can be a bit much. He should joke about other shit topics, you can be toxic and funny, and educated on the matter, he just doesnt always have the right content with that.

Bro, you should see what ProKid had to say on this. Most of the comments you and your kind post in the appeals section is either outright unconstructive or just insulting to various parties. There’s a pinned post on the ban and ban appeal sections saying not to post if you don’t have direct evidence to support your claims, so you probably got comments removed because they weren’t related to the ban or evidence supporting the validity of the appeal.
