This is the kind of shit that gave Cream Tea like even the slightest margin of truth to what he was saying (regarding specifically over policing of speech). Why remove the ability to express negativity through an emoji? I can just comment something far worse anyways.

You people are too dumb to use them correctly and will spam them on every report or appeal that wasn't written with absolute perfection no matter if the reporter was justified or not. You can already see this with the 👎reactions

Let people have fun for gods sake. Or punish them if they get obnoxious, like with everything else. Reactions are like the most harmless thing ever and you are taking them seriously? Also, I should add, I can just add a mean spirited comment instead if I were to actually ever be so inclined! So what difference does it actually make?

I don't really have an issue with this but what I find annoying is how people spam it everywhere often times without even bothering to think if it's warranted. What's the point of having it in that case anymore, it just looks bad for outside readers
 
What is the point indeed. Reactions are the minimum effort slop for chuds that can't be bothered to write a sentence. Seeing that this is the intended purpose, trolls will always use it to troll when they aren't feeling motivated enough to comment.

Sometimes though, I want the ability to mark a post that is notably terrible with a badge of dishonor, which is why I want a clown emoji reaction. Some things deserve a negative reaction. Again, its really salt for the wound atp but also I love salt when an idiots involved AND deserves it.

dumb and troll reaction emojis were used to bully and harass forum members in the past - from a community safety standpoint, having a clown emoji is taking a step back

They are emojis! If this takes an emotional toll on someone, they should go outside more often. How threatening or malicious can someone realistically be with these? Its like crying over getting "pregnant man" reactions on discord.

Silencing or neutering negativity that is grounded in legitimate discourse is kind of childish. If someone is harassing other users with it, let them report it and then punish them how you would for any other form of harassment.

If someone makes a fool of themselves, let us drop a clown reaction!

No it fucking isn't? I just wanted more variety. I don't have the time or interest to go around clown emoji reacting posts simply because a specific person posted it. I simply am not that much of a hater for anyone that isn't already banned. If someone does do that, they should probably get punished, or at least a slap on the wrist.

Also, what realistic difference does it make instead of someone "dumb" or "clown" reacting a post they just laugh react to it? Like you can probably twist any of the reactions to suit your purpose. The logical endpoint of your argument will lead to like reacting being the only option.

Additionally, with the numbers I have, you are the minority opinion. Granted that is easily misinterpreted and we can't conclude that as absolute fact. Though I will stand by the fact that its unlikely to be an unpopular change.
 
I have to ask, how does one access the 👎reaction anyway? The site only gives me the option to like posts.
