No way people stopped playing because of gameplay issues, it must be because you can’t use slurs.
Its more about the gigantic skill gap that separates players, new players dont tolerate ff or laser maps and tryhard get bored when new ppl chose maps like garten of banban.

You keep on bringing up the golden age of Skial but you were never part of the reason things were good back then. The overall maturity and social skills of people who play this game went straight to shit so instead all that's left is people with no understanding of social ques or how to actually interact with other people. Expecting any of these people to do anything else then just to spam them because they think it's funny adds no substance. In regards even to saying it adds to "edgy" jokes it was never a joke just to say "nigga" or "fag" and the only people who found just using the words themselves funny is the same people who find lenny binds and trollfaces funny. It worked back then because the people were better then, now all that's left is a bunch of braindead Dickriders and people who think the internet is a substitute for human contact and showers.

There's a lot of talk and discussion from people who don't even play Skial's Zombie Escape in this thread. I think from a majority of the old players' perspective, like the regulars who would come on and did stop playing, simply just don't care about this issue? There are some in this thread who are speaking, but honestly I think it's just drama farming.

Form a ZE player's perspective, I believe its decline is from other matters that should be addressed but get drowned out by other pointless things. When it comes down to letting people say "nigga" or an actual slur, if it's against server rules who cares? Out of personal preference, I like playing TF2 ZE to avoid the whole n-word spam in CS. Sometimes, trying to be edgy is people's entire personality and it gets tiring if you just want to complete maps or play a game. A lot of people's personality here follow suit with that as well.

And I can see it from the other aisle. There was a time where people would be muted for saying "Nigeria" or even "bot," which I even found extremely stupid. But for "nigga," I think from a majority of people and not the terminally online forum goers, it doesn't matter. Ban it or not, I think the people who so fiercely advocate for it are the same type of people who like to stir shit up, micspam far too much, or say the most ludicrous things. Like, you got people here but how many of you here still play the game or try to support it through other means? A lot of you probably did or do, but the people who still actually play probably don't care as much. You'll get anecdotal evidence here and there, but I just don't think it's something worth caring about too much.

tl:dr; this thread is just bait for people. I mean have your opinion, but people'll still play or do things for their own sake

i understand the reasoning (that is, "since the word can be used in two ways, one of which isn't hurtful, it should be allowed as long as it's not used in the other, hurtful way") but it's still hardly a good idea. it's easy to see how controversial it is, especially since many still dislike it even when it's used in a way that isn't meant to be hurtful. and because the intent can be either hurtful or not hurtful, in some cases it may be up to interpretation, and therefore difficult to deduce with any confidence if a message brought to attention. it seems fine in principle, but it sets a bad precedent

Let’s do your favorite thing and call out when the last time someone played and whether their opinion is relevant. Here are the people who +1’d and the last time they played on Deathrun,

Lord Zuko: 1 month ago

So six total players who played within the last 3 months. That screams vocal minority to me.
my bad king ill make sure to quit my job so i can play on skial 24/7 and keep the servers up

Once the government reopens we’ll get you your back pay as this is an essential role. Thank you for your service.

I’d also like to point out the fact that, in typical DR player fashion, Zuko failed to notice he was included as one of the six players whose opinion mattered. I promise, once you master 1-5, the rest comes a lot easier.
