Banned

I'm sure everyone has seen this by now, but I believe the way this was handled was very poor. The reporter gave plenty of evidence that the person in question was almost certainly a groomer, but other members had to push a certain mod in the right direction to ban this guy because "it happened outside the server, we can't really do anything". I understand most mods strictly follow the rules, but to not ban this creep because parts of it happened outside the server gives a bad look to the server. I would recommend potentially changing the rules to allow for banning people (as long as evidence is provided) who have committed creepy acts, even if they happened outside skial. I really do not want to see skial have its reputation stained by this incident, as I honestly couldn't blame people for being put off by this incident if the word were to spread.

There is precedent for allowing extraterritorial jurisdiction on Skial.

A few players in my time were punished for off server harassment more than a decade ago.

And in the past year Cream Tea was given a month ban for private conversations off server being leaked.

So there is precedent.
But

It should be only allowed for cases of grooming/pedophilia accusations as predators take their victims off server to commit their acts and the skial report system should adapt to this.

I don’t want this weaponized against legal speech/actions.

DB Studios should've been banned.
100%

While a permanent mute is appreciated, not banning this user on Skial servers introduces the risk that they will continue to prey on more people, including minors. I don't completely disagree with @Dr. K in regards to Skial staff not being responsible for communication that happens outside of the Skial ecosystem, but there should always be a bit of wiggle room for exceptions that call for it. This situation is one such that I believe should have absolutely been an exception.

If this message threatens my staff application, so be it. I'm not going to compromise on my values just to save face.

EDIT: Looks like @Jermaphobe did the right thing. Thanks, champ!

I appreciate you both, but I still would like my suggestion to be taken into consideration, as muffin said above. I don't think marking as "already done" is correct, as the guy is now banned (thank god), but I would like if staff looked into my suggestion.
