Hello! šŸ˜„
I am suggesting an update to the report system.
This suggestion will appear to conflict with my past reports. The meaning of this suggestion is to hold players (myself included) responsible as a community in the future, so users can have a positive experience.
The goal is to prevent turnover and retain users in Skial.
The suggested update should include:
  • "Seek to Understand (STU)" conversation!

    • This could be added to the Server Rules thread or wherever it best fits.
    • Users who report without this evidence are held accountable. A STU can be in the reply.
      • "Were they aware of this rule before reporting? You didn't post a STU."
    • Provides transparency within the report to support informed analysis and decision-making by the administration.
The following verbiage in the report should be able to be copied and pasted, with the current incident details being replaced in brackets:
If the violating user chooses to ignore, there is another type included:
  • "On [DATE], you were found in violation of Skial's Server Rules in [SERVER | LOCATION] for [RULE VIOLATION]. A Seek to Understand conversation was initiated by a user in the Skial community. You stated: "i didn't know it was a rule." This violates Skial's Server Rules; therefore, a report has been submitted."
  • "On [DATE], you were found in violation of Skial's Server Rules in [SERVER | LOCATION] for [RULE VIOLATION]. A Seek to Understand conversation was initiated by a user in the Skial community. You did not acknowledge the user. This violates Skial's Server Rules; therefore, a report has been submitted."
Their statement can be recorded from the logs or from the mic. Adjustments to the verbiage can be made if necessary.
The log or video recording (for their mic) should be included to validate the STU. If missing, it is no longer credible.
To confront the user, it can be something as simple as reminding them about the rule. "you cant say that here you know" And their response can be recorded after that.
If they choose to say "I didn't know it was a rule" again on another report, then they may be subject to disciplinary action.

If more information is needed, I will be more than willing to provide it. Thanks for your time. šŸ™‚

I don't know if you're talking about DR griefing reports or minor things such as micspam or voteabuse but if someone is being racist, homophobic, sexist and stuff like that I'll mute them without questions or warnings

Any report. And it makes discipline stronger if they choose to ignore.
They can create an appeal, but they will also have to answer why they didn't respond.

This is some pseudo interlocutory reporting system I’ve never heard of before. I don’t know how I feel about it I’ll have to mull it over.

I’m not a fan of the just ā€œmute/ban/kickā€ them on first offenses if a mod is available to engage with the person. But by and large moderation has become disconnected with direct contact with players in all communities. :/ I don’t know. I just don’t know.
