OLD THREADS FUCK YEAH
I got off my ass and got a PNY PC2-6400. Posting on it right now, working great for the past five minutes.
 
I don't think there is any need for RAM beyond 4 GB. Even 3 GB's been dandy for me. Maybe 6 or 8 GB. Well, personally I believe that. Haven't found a single game which used my RAM that much.

1 GB goes to Windows and other low level startup shit.
1 GB goes to Minecraft every time I try to play.
I NEED ANOTHER STICK. 4 GB is always sufficient for general gaming.

personally i prefer chrome nowadays over firefox simply due to the lack of memory leak from firefox...... if they could ever fix the huge leak from it i would go back in a heart beat
 
I NEED ANOTHER 2 GIGS. MINECRAFT KEEPS RUNNING OUT OF MEMORY TO WHORE.
Also no crashes yet.

It's been fixed for some time TMK. I don't have any problems with a memory leak and I've been up for 5 days.
 
iono... that and i don't like that they don't have a browser that's 64bit compliant just me i suppose, only way you can get one is if you got into the alpha or pre beta builds if i recall correctly
 
ah not offical though iono i still like some of the chrome plugins for like facebook and youtube... tis nice having the old FB still and you tube videos no longer auto start when loading the page makes stopping rick rolls so much easier

P.S. however that is interesting oaky maybe ill check it out sometime
