As the title says, it's really annoying to be surfing or fighting in the jail just for someone who is bhopping and got airblasted or something like that to just bump you and kill you in one hit. How is that fair? What was I meant to do to avoid that situation? Move out of the way? You most likely didn't even see them coming and they were moving too fast that you couldn't have been able to move out of the way even if you saw them. Hit collision also makes certain things like bhop, as I mentioned before, the jetpack on surf_rainbow, or even just rocket jumping or sticky jumping extremely easy to abuse because you can just rocket jump or sticky jump off a wall and just lunge yourself at someone, instantly killing them. I know it's been a long while since hit collision was added to surf, but now it's more and more annoying to play against because you can just get killed by someone who just held down space while hitting A and D repeatedly. I assume the purpose of HC was to prevent griefing on the ramps. If it isn't, then I apologize as I have never really seen another reason for it. Most people are in the jail just fighting rather than trying to surf, so there's little situations other than griefing where HC would make sense to add. Anyways, if bhopping was removed, the easiest way to abuse hit collision, as bhopping is the main way to build up momentum while in the jail, is removed and you no longer die unfairly due to someone just speeding around the jail. But I also know that bhopping is relatively recent addition to Surf US, so I understand if there's hesitation to remove it as it is a new mechanic. In that case, remove hit collision, as that has been in the surf server for at least 2 years and I know that at least a couple of other people have complained about it. FrozenFirebug is one who comes to mind. They used to play on the server very often, as I also used to, and they took extreme issue with hit collision, even prompting it to be altered so that it would be harder to get killed so easily. The change, unfortunately, has done very little and bhopping just makes things so much more unfair to combat when by the time you can react to a player if you notice them, you are likely already dead.
