We havent gotten a event in 7 months which is sad, because the events always filled up the servers to 64 people and you needed to wait in queue to join the server (which hasnt happened since the 64 people update back in july of 2023). I dont think people care if the admins organise or even if the admins are ON during the event, The only thing that matters to them is to beat the map, have fun, and maybe get some VIP in the process. That means that admins not having time doesnt need to affect the whole skial zombie escape community since people that are trustable and have time can organise them. (only like 2 or 3 people are needed imo).

Alot of people has also quit because of no new events, and the removal of maps and how ze stands right now. If the map is crashing people its okay to remove but then atleast try to fix it and add it back. The only reason people are so afraid to talk about crashing even if they do crash is because their favourite map will get removed and never added back. Theres been many instances of this like: ze_nomada, ze_m0w0m, ze_neochrome, ze_realm and probally more which i dont remember or were removed for other reasons.

Which brings me to the next point and that is removing maps out of the blue not letting anybody know and there being no transparency of when the gamemode is being updated, There should be a update tab on either skial forums or the discord which bottiger updates on what he is gonna update/remove/add/modify. I think making the 3map cd into a 5 map cd would let people explore more underplayed maps which would help get them more playtime instead of just the same 10 maps being played on the server everyday. I also think that adding not so popular maps (maps that arent in the css top 30 played) would be benefitial because theres just unused ports laying around which the maps are really good but get no sunlight on this gamemode because they arent popular enough.

The leader plugin also needs some updates to it which include less marker CD, a jump here marker and maybe some other quality of life changes but i think we should focus on the more important stuff before we do that. this is kind of a cry for help letter to bottiger to implement some of the changes i just listed if not all of them. i think some of these can be implemented later but some we need right now. We also need to aknowledge that school is starting/people are going back to their job so there may be less people than usual but that can be expected.

I do believe that we a well overdue for an event. Plus I believe the leader plugin does need a little bit of changes like what my boy Mato said.
Solid +1 for me!

Do not hide crashing maps. I will find out about it sooner or later and you are killing the server faster by not reporting it. Crashing is the #1 way to lose players as the vast majority of people will not bother to reconnect. If they never get fixed that is either because we don't know how or it was ported by a mapper that quit, or it is a new bug introduced by Valve that we can't fix. The longer you hide the fact that a map is broken, the more likely it is that the mapper quit or forgot about the map.

Activity on the server has dropped because of summer vacation and because I've already ported 99% of the top maps from CSGO. We are all going to have to get used to a slower number of updates. It is literally impossible to go back to the days where I was porting 1 top map per week. Honestly our players got too used to super fast updates.

We still added 4 different maps this summer and 1 map update, this would have been enough for any other game mode to be satisfied with. People just need to get used to slower updates.

I don't see why there needs to be a changelog. If a map is removed, then you can see that it is removed by looking at the map list in-game. I don't see why I need to waste time writing a log for it.

And as for events, I don't know if it really helps the player count in the long run. I mean sure the server fills up for 1-2 hours, but then everyone just leaves the moment it ends. Remember when we ran events on the EU server?

As basic thug said in the screenshot i think having a changelog wouldnt be a waste of time especially when maps are getting removed left and right. Trying to atleast fix the map would be better because we could map test it on US to see if it still crashes and if it still does just remove it. In my opinion having events would massively help now and in the long run since if we do them every 2 weeks or 3 depending how much people want it, also i think the leader plugin should get reworked (shorter timer cds, jump here marker) and this is coming from a guy who leads regularly and other people have said that as well. So in conclusion i think adding atleast 2 or 3 of the things i listed would be really benefitial. Especially events.

You didn't read what I just wrote. Most of the time it just can't be fixed due to new or existing engine bugs. And bottle does not play ze anymore so he doesn't want to fix dreamin, and eltra lost the VMF for offliner. If you had reported these problems earlier, then they might have fixed them.

The longer you wait to report these crashes, the more likely it is that they will never get fixed.
