Why should you be unbanned?
I was talking about politics in chat and a few people didn't agree with what I said. The admin told me to quit rambling about politics so I stopped and switched the subject. I then talked about one of my hobbies and told a story about something that happened locally and then got banned for mic spam.

I'm not sure what rule I exactly broke, as I was not being toxic or annoying to anyone, especially not to the point that they would leave. If I was being annoying, I apoligize but nobody in chat seemed to be that bothered by me, with some even engaging in what I was talking about. I did not see anyone !ignore me or call a vote to mute me, so this sort of hit me out of the blue.

I have had many friendly chats with people on the Payload server that were not game related, so I assumed that talking about hobbies outside of skial is not against the rules. I'm a little stumped on why I was banned.

If you can unban me or show me which rule I broke so I do not make the same mistake again, that would be great :)

Thanks.

You were using the mic for long periods of time, continuously talking, making it difficult for other players to hear the game or one another.

You received verbal warnings to stop mic spamming and told you would be muted for a day if you continued.

You proceeded to mic-spam after the verbal warnings and were issued a one-day silence.

Talking and having friendly chats is fine, but when you do it to the point where it is continuous, non-stop, where other players can't hear, it's annoying and bothers other players.

Understood. Can you link me the exact rule that I broke.

Spamming. Examples:
  • Advertising other TF2 servers or Skial competitors.
  • Telling people to boycott Skial.
  • Reporting people that aren't breaking the rules.
  • Calling random votes, even on yourself.
  • Music is not allowed on voice chat
Don't be annoying/toxic. If you are bothering people and making them leave, you will be muted

I am not really sure where I see I broke a rule, nor which rule I broke. I didnt seem to be bothering people or making them leave, or being intentionally annoying or toxic. If I am correct, there is not any rule about talking about your hobbies as long as you keep it civil and are not intentionally being annoying, as I have seen plenty of people on Skial do before.

Thanks!

You just posted the rule. Spamming. Notice how it says examples. It’s not limited to those exact examples.

Do you mind clarifying that rule a little more. I feel like it could be better written to help prevent this in the future.

That’s what the examples are meant to do. I don’t think I need to clarify what “spamming “ means.

I hardly see admins mute for players talking for prolonged periods of time, but it happens time to time. It’s typically because the player in question is disrupting the server.

Either way he gave you fair warnings. It’s up to you whether or not you follow them; but keep in mind it typically doesn’t end up going well if you don’t.
