Suggestion is to revert Respawn times and match time lengths to defaults on Community Servers . (Specifically 24/7 Dustbowl US)

I.E: Remove the respawn timers and increase match length (Default Settings)

Reason: I remember when they added the Red Team 20 second respawn timer to try and balance gameplay . this wasn't a bad idea 7~8 years ago or so when it was added considering how competitive Skial was back then and how overpowered many weapons/classes were (Beggars Bazooka pre-nerf etc) but this actually isn't a classic/vanilla thing and Red team is very nerfed at this point , and the matches are too short.

at least wanted to bring discussion on this and possibly a poll

Dustbowl already has default respawn times. Red is supposed to have up to 20 second respawn times.

Note that these numbers are doubled if you happen to spawn at a bad time.

I will say it seems to be doubled almost always . its always 4~5 seconds blue , 15~20 seconds red.

It is almost always double because the server has 32 players.

seems pussy imo and imbalanced . EU 32 db server is high octane instant respawn full ball sack meanwhile skial 32 db is cucked .. slow respawn... blah , all the nerfs and changes make 20 second respawn awful imo.

32 player EU fragmaster dustbowl is so much more fun . Longer rounds , instant respawn , balls to the wall battles .

Skial 32 dustbowl use to be very good years ago but sadly the EU server is jsut better now.
 
We used to have instant respawn on our dustbowl server but then people complained because blue could never win since red respawn was down from 20 to 0 seconds. Tell me how many times you've seen the 3rd stage on this other instant respawn server.

Funny you mention that because we won on attacking 3rd map earlier today on that server and I was thinking of you when it happened . (We lost defending 3rd map yesterday as well)

Attacking should not be easy, the matches should be long too.

The buff to the short circuit making projectile spam at start round completely negated is a huge nerf to defending as well..

People complaining about blue not winning just means theyre not trying hard enough or using voice communication to motivate cohesive teamwork and cooperation .

32 player dustbowl is the pinnacle of Team Fortress warfare . The matches should be long , hard , and fast combat . emulating 32 player TFC Dustbowl days as much as possible .

Also , I was a long time player of Skial LA Dustbowl 32 in those days you mention. and things were also much different then (Pre beggars nerf, no short-circuit being OP list goes on . a random team not working together properly or helping engineers know how and where to build, lack of medics, lack of communication etc is a huge part of being successful or failing while attacking on dustbowl.

Attacking was NEVER easy on TFC or TF2 32 dustbowl.

Winning while attacking especially on the last map should be very rewarding feeling and 90% of the time it isn't on Skial 32 db . Attacking is actually easier than defending on your server now.

Its 7:30pm CST right now and there is still more players on the 32 db EU Fragmasters server than 32 db US Skial. that is saying something... and half of them are US players! with high ping!


RIP TFC 32 player dustbowl :P

I'm not sure how many times I have to say this.

We used to have instant respawn on all our dustbowl servers and they died out which is why we bothered to switch it back to vanilla respawn. People were complaining to us that it was impossible for blue to win and get to the last stage because reds would be respawning every second and it only took a single red player to stop the cap and the blue spawn was 10 seconds away. If people preferred instant respawn, then why did our dustbowl servers die out?

Instant respawns on Dustbowl, especially since it's a 16v16 dustbowl, are rather imbalanced in RED's favor.

instant respawn ruins every payload map, I think its stupid in general.

I've got to agree with this. I was on there for about 45 minutes earlier and no one could even get to the second stage.

The Fragmaster server is much older than our dustbowl server (its been the same for like 15 years in a row) so they naturally have more players. There just aren't enough people interested in community dustbowl.

I know this because like I said I played on them very regularly (every single day) and I remember clearly when you changed it and during that time both LA/NY were still very popular . The people complaining for changes are the people not putting forth the effort to succeed and instead whined for respawn times to make it easier .

Fact of the matter is Blue team is too easy now and Red team is nerfed into the ground on your server. one or two ubers on every single map grants blue an easy victory while red is waiting to respawn for 20 SECONDS!

Competitive Match Queue servers killed community servers overall , along with tons of updates/changes new games coming out , CS:GO being prioritized by valve leaving TF2 on the backburner ever since.

at the end of the day Dustbowl 32 player should be fast respawn , long match times , non-stop fast paced action on both teams. exactly how it is and has been on fragmasters ever since it was opened.

I just went on the dustbowl server and asked the people on the server and they all said they don't want instant/fast respawn for red for the reasons I already outlined. It makes it impossible for blue to win.

You can ask them yourselves.

But now you're left with Defending being impossible and Attacking being too easy. and once Blue team gets teleporters up its gg usually if their entrances aren't fucked with asap.

and I checked the server right when you replied earlier , there were 3 people I didn't bother joining to ask , but yeah some people will say yes , some people will say no . but at the end of the day red is gimped and blue is easy currently. I know because I've played mainly tf2 dustbowl since 2008 and TFC since 1999

but yeah I guess its just feels more fun overall on the fragmaster server than the skial one because it is harder to attack which it should be ,and we do win when people communicate and actually try . but its EU and pretty high ping so yea .

anyway I appreciate all the responses so thank you for that.

I just miss the golden days on skial LA 32 db with multiple clans etc and a very regular player base .
I miss the damn FuG servers too! they were so fun

Red does not always win and blue does not always win. Your suggestion would make it almost impossible for blue to win any matches and take it outside of the skill level of each team.

However, I do think the respawn time is tad bit too long and should be reduced by a few seconds but definitely not instant.

Oh you're Zeo I've seen you in the server a lot yeah thanks for your input .

and yes the respawn time is brutal for red if blue is setup and has teleporters rolling troops into the battle much quicker than red is respawning , which is more often than not usually.

but I'm not sure where you're getting the idea its impossible for blue to win if its instant respawn considering I win on blue on fragmasters quite often (instant respawn both sides), just relies on good engis/medics/attackers etc and cohesive team work from everyone. but yeah Blue is overall harder on fragmasters, and in turn more rewarding for victory. red is hard too though usually .
