This map was beloved by many and despite what old threads might suggest

https://www.skial.com/threads/bring-back-warehouse-and-mountain-bash.75341/
https://www.skial.com/threads/some-more-vsh-ff2-maps.85506/

It's a very good map. Both of these threads have had overwhelming support. It's been almost a year since the last thread suggesting we add this back, and I'd like to say that the "statistics" may be a bit outdated considering the last time this map was in rotation was about 4 years ago. I'd hope you would give it a second chance, because this map was really good and it's been awhile. If it does poorly on your statistics, you can go ahead and remove it again and we'll never make a thread about this map again. Sounds good?

I loved playing on this map when it was in rotation and was upset when it suddenly got removed. I’d love to see it back and play on it again.

+1

-1 stalemate syndrome, still unoptimized and unpolished.

Also has quite a few gimmicks that can really screw over Hale; the slow opening BLU spawn door, the crusher, the mini-DR hall, the pit, and the water.

vsh_egyptyspot

map has been in rotation for years and it has far more gimmicks than mountainbash.
I don't really see what you mean by it being "unpolished", either. I will say the map is unoptimized, but as TF2 is not demanding I see no reason this would cause problems.

egyptyspot doesn't have stalemate syndrome.

i don't understand your assertion that egyptyspot has "far more gimmicks"; you have the spike tunnel, the spiky room, the lazy river, and the teleport to the top island, making 4 compared to the 5 I listed for mountainbash. please elaborate on this point.

i say "unpolished" because of things like mountain bash's usage of props and unclean geometry; the mountain being really janky is what i would consider the worst offender.

the map being unoptimized is important, maybe not for FF, but for VSH, where we have a large playerbase, some of which are playing on lower end devices and complaind/leave when certain larger/less optimized maps come on.

Egyptyspot has the worst stalemate syndrome out of any map in the map pool. That statement makes you seem really foolish. If you don't believe me, I could give you 5+ demos of rounds on Egyptyspot running out the entire timer in under a week. I don't know how VSH runs, but in FF it's a problem

Specific number of gimmicks doesn't particularly matter; the point I was making was that there was already an existing map with a large amount of gimmicks.

vsh_hakurei_shrine has had janky geometry, and it's been in the map pool for 4 years.

I cannot realistically expect everyone to be running on modern PCs, and allowing everyone to play is something important. That being said, I do not recall a single time people were having performance issues whenever that map was being ran, but that may be incorrect. The map does use an excessive amount of props, I will give you that.

Maybe Egyptyspot sees stalemates a lot for Skial's FF, but not much at all for VSH; since the map pools are shared, I wouldn't say this is the worst offender; 5+ rounds stalemating on Egyptspot in a week of FF isn't much compared to dozens of times in a week for very large maps i.e. Urban Works. Even if you were correct and both gamemodes suffered it, I'd posit the evidence would speak for itself. I'm sorry if you were personally offended by my claim, but I don't see any need for the extra ad hominem.

If specific number of gimmicks doesn't matter, why would you say the map has "far more gimmicks"? This is comparatively saying that another map has more as a point.

I agree that a specific number of gimmicks doesn't matter. I don't want egyptyspot in the map pool for similar reasons, but we wouldn't be able to outright remove the map due to popularity. I'd want Shrine removed too, for its geometry and long rounds.

the stalemates are just the boss being too much of a pussy to get the engies, we have a pussy syndrome in ff2

This entire conflict is soley because the map pools are not seperate. Our gamemodes are vastly different and require vastly different balancing. We cannot do anything about it in the current because they are not seperated despite our overwhelming request for it.
