Why are scam appeals so slow?

I mean... some guy posted his appeal on December 4 and the mods are still investigating the case and I posted mine on Saturday as a suggestion from a mod and, well, I just hope I don't have to wait 3 months until someone replies and other 3 until it is resolved/ denied. Am I being impatient? Are these things always slow?

There are few trade moderators and for cases as serious as this I'm sure they want to reduce error as much as possible.
It is worth the time for them to make sure they're doing their jobs properly, especially in cases like yours where it could be tricky.
