The apparent reason for my mute is mic spam that consisted of 3 episodes of 30-60 seconds of a youtube video (high quality, not hold-your-speakers-up-to-your-mic).

To the best of my knowledge Biggie was on not the server to witness the alleged spam. I was not warned by an admin. I was muted 10-15 minutes after I had logged off. I was told by someone still online after I left Ly Dee called her boyfriend admin onto the server to administer the mute.

As per the Skial rules (https://www.skial.com/threads/server-rules.136/):

Spamming
  • Reporting people that aren't breaking the rules.
  • Calling random votes, even on yourself.
  • Whether music over voice chat is spam will be left to a server vote

I was pmed by a friend that you and someone else were spamming in the pre-round. I wasn't there to witness it, but I was given a demo of you and other said person spamming random non-sense for well over 20 seconds. You were told to not spam because it's against the rules. I do not have to give warnings per-se, since you are a regular on the server you should have known the server rules by now, and not to break them.

You are going to have to sit out the 1 day mute. You can still type in chat though.

EDIT: I was there in-game after they pm'd me, but under a different alias.
 
I wasn't implying you had to warn me, just noting the facts as I didn't know who would respond here. The "random nonsense" that you heard for 20 second was a YouTube video, based around a sound effect one of the other regulars makes. Which is why most of the regulars on the server found it amusing, and no one called a vote.

The rules don't clearly identify spamming, outside of reporting people incorrectly or calling random votes. In fairness I'll freely admit that if someone mic spams for 2-3 minutes at a time, even when it's good music, I think it's reasonable to call that spam. Not that I get a vote, but I would agree that a mute would be appropriate in those instances, particularly if an admin witnessed it directly and especially if a warning had been issued first. At the end of the day you guys make the rules and it's your servers to admin, but as a 1.5 year regular and subscriber, a mute for 3x 30-60 seconds of mic spamming something amusing to the other regulars, which happened 15 minutes before you got on the server, of which you heard 20 seconds of, which didn't elicit anyone on the server calling a vote for, seems heavy handed.

The Rules are as minimally specific as possible to allow for their ease of comprehension by players and their applicability towards the benefit of the server by Admins. Given that the Rules only except***

I was in the server after the demo was made, and I heard constant random noises coming from you and someone else that didn't really have any purpose what so ever. You have been warned by other people other than just an admin which should be a sign to stop doing it. Assuming that the regulars enjoy it doesn't make it safe to assume that other people find it enjoyable too. New players coming to the server hearing the spam, and not sure how to mute you makes them not want to come back is not something we want.

You are also known for spamming, so don't act surprised that you got muted.
 
I wasn't surprised given other recent admin activity. I disagree with several of your above assumptions and assertions, but at the end of the day you guys are the admins, so it is what it is.

Wait till your mute is over, but in the meantime you can still type in chat.
