Why should you be unbanned or unblocked?:
Ok. This is not really an appeal and more of a little complain on my part. I recently got banned from your 2Fort+ EU server for being a Hoovy (in other words: friendly).

I understand people sometimes doesn't like friendlies and that it can handicap a team or the overall quality of game. But this shouldn't be worthy of a ban in my opinion. I sadly don't have any video of my ban but I was like 2 minutes in game and *Poof* banned! I find this a little too harsh. ^^'

Again, I know some people can't stand friendlies but they can bring real fun to a game sometimes. I mean it's a game after all : every one should be free to play the way he wants. While it's still whithin the general game's rules of course (no hacking or cheating). And friendlying is neither an hack nor a cheat.

So... Sorry for the long post but I just couldn't keep it for myself. I'll try to behave next time and bring war, destruction and blood on the battlefield! (Not flowers, friends and sandviches...)

You aren't a new player to Skial - 427+ hours, so you must've read the rules in the past (or I hope you have). The rules clearly state that friendlying is against the rules on all of our vanilla servers, it doesn't matter if you disagree with the rules, or don't think that it should be worthy of a ban - you have to follow all of the rules. It really doesn't matter how long you were breaking the rules for, you broke them... we don't say "if you've been breaking the rules for over X minutes, you may be banned".
Harming your team for an extended period of time.
  • Examples: blocking sniper views
  • Teleporter traps
  • Refusing to help advance your teams position for a long time (usually known as Friendlying)

It's not about people being able to stand them, the fact is that friendlying ruins the game for people who actually want to play. If someone joins the server, they should enjoy a reasonable challenge to kill people on the enemy team - you walking around and crouching, or taunting with people (I understand you weren't doing this, though the point still stands) - is not a challenge. It removes from the total number of players who are a challenge to kill and reduces the amount of support that your team has whilst in combat - therefore wasting a slot on the servers. If you wish to be friendly we have trade/idle servers.

Everyone should be free to play the game they want, as you said "while it's still within the general game's rules" - I agree, but whilst on Skial servers you must follow Skial rules. Valve do not enforce any rules besides hacking, therefore each community has their own sub-set of rules which apply within their servers.

So... Sorry for the long post but I just couldn't keep it for myself. I'll try to behave next time and bring war, destruction and blood on the battlefield! (Not flowers, friends and sandviches...)
Due to the fact it is your first offence, I will lift the ban if you confirm that you have read and understood the rules
If you do not agree with the rules and do not wish to follow them, do not play on Skial servers.
If you continue to break the rules, the length of time you will be punished for will extend.

Thanks for the quick response!

Ok... I guess that's fair. I admit, for the longest time I have played on your servers, I never read the rules... -_-'
Then again, I still raise the claim that friendlying shouldn't be worthy of a ban. But I'll follow the rules now and then.

So now, I'll take my minigun to the battlefield... and my sandviches for trade and idle! (I'll keep one for you ;] )
