He hasn't directly said anything about balance patches, just new DLC. Updates are still possible yo! People thought Sakurai said the same thing back in 2014 with 1.0.4 being the last patch.
I mean saying that development has STOPPED seems to imply there's no more balance patches.
Just did FG with a Kirby that did nothing but dodge and try to use Yoshi's neutral b to kill me, and on top of that he was lagging bad and actually knew how to dodge. He completely ran the clock down because I, being the unskilled person I am, couldn't take his last stock fast enough. Worst attempted disrespect I've ever seen.
Eh, I'm sure Sakurai would be more specific than that if he meant no more updates at all. Pretty sure it means just development on new shit, if there's something that really needs fixed they will most likely do it.
Except when your teammate just sits on the angel platform while you're getting bodied by the other two players.
