Declined Add friendly option to ban player votemenu

The jailbreak and Saxton Hale servers have this option, so why don't the normal ones? I propose that we add "friendly" to the list of options that comes up when voting to ban a player. By adding this to the normal servers, it also lets people know that being friendly is against the rules every time someone calls the vote. I can't tell you how many times I have had to ask someone to stop friendly-ing because they did not know it was against the "harming team" rule. I don't really understand why the custom ones have it and the normal tf servers do not.

Being someone who dislikes friendlies, I'd say we should do this. Then again, it may be redundant for reasons Cr33p3r pointed out.
 
I know that, but the custom servers have a griefing and friendly option. I don't understand why they have it and the normal ones do not.

I feel like the votemenu should be as consistent as possible throughout all servers.
 
Leave it as Griefing. In many cases saying that someone being friendly got them punished never goes over well or gets support. It's a lot easier to explain it as someone getting punished for griefing and not assisting their team and gets over better as a vote.
 
Perhaps leave it as griefing, but add in something like... Antamania wants to ban ---- for Griefing (Friendlying, Teletrap etc.) There are so many people who don't accept that friendlying is against the rules, having it straight from the vote menu will probably have a lot of people stop doing it.

I know at this time of night, both turbine NY, and hightower US are completely unplayable due to the large amount of friendlies. When a vote is called on someone for griefing when they are friendly typically the people are like "WTF HES ONLY THROWING SANDVICHES" I think it should be clearer.

Defib brought up a similar point with me as well. By just having it there, it shows the players that friendly is not allowed, and will at the very least teach a few players the rules. I have said it before, but this is already an option on jailbreak and VSH, I see no reason why it should not be on normal tf servers. It would make the most sense to either flat out remove it or add the option to all the servers that have a rule about it.
 
I like this, it certainly makes it a lot clearer than just "griefing". It might even be an idea to have something like "Friendly (eg conga parties)" to make it doubly clear.

i'll agree that making it more clear is a good idea, but i feel there are too many forms of friendlies to create sub-sub-titles for the subtitle of "friendly"

i.e. Conga, Spycrab, Boxcrab, Friendly Pootis, Kazotsky Kick, Throwing enemies sandviches, etc

I think the big thing everyone should be looking at is these two screenshots. Yes, friendlying is considered griefing, but why have "Friendly" as a ban option on custom gamemode servers and not on normal ones?

+1, it will also help clarify to all users what the user is being banned for, as "griefing" is interpreted very vaguely by most.
 
Just a thought...you could have a text popup like for hack advertising that makes it crystal clear friendlying is against the server rules. If the whole server is being told this every 60 seconds or whatever then the only excuse they have is they can't speak English.

+1 It will be rare that any player gets kicked but at least it would make it clear that it is against the rules and some players don't sound like a backseat admin when pointing it out.
 
Many suggestions for addendum's to the rules are denied because it's just adding words for words sake, friendlying on game servers is griefing as it becomes annoying and therefore is covered by the current rules. -1 from me

I mean hey I'm all for it but I'm also fine with people bitching about gettings banned for it saying it's not in the rules. It's funny to me.

And that's why we have even more idiots that defend these friendlies that also don't think it's griefing. So the vote sometimes doesn't pass.
