I've never understood this. Why bother repurchasing games that you already own for $30 when you could spend that same amount on a game that you don't own? It seems redundant and like a waste of money to me.
Convenience, supporting nintendo for doing things I like.
No portability, no new features..
- easily play it in bed

- save states

This is a moot point since you can do that by buying any game though.

So is the GBC and GBA version.

So you're saying its worth an extra $10 to play a game on easy mode?
It isn't. I like it when nintendo re releases classic games, so by supporting them by buying re released classic games I am saying "I like it when you re release classic games, please re release more".

Okay. I don't have those, only the SNES ones.

Save states are merely a nice touch, I'd buy them without the save states anyway.

Then why not just buy classic titles that you didn't own back in the day so you can get a new game and support rereleases at the same time. It's a win-win.

Because I don't care how many street fighter games they port, I want them to port more main stream/1st party titles, such as SMW, Punch out, Original mario etc.

I own the original 2, but I've never beat them. I think the farthest I've gotten is world 3 in 2. I don't play them mainly because they are out of the way, in a different room than me, then I have to set up my SNES and shit. But if I buy them on my Wii U I can easily access them by just booting up my wii.

A lot of the time I just boot up my wii, look at the home screen, and think "What could I play right now?". Now I have the option of the first DKC trilogy.

I like this discussion. The reason why I like it is that I also buy re-released games. I do own Super Mario Land on SNES and GBA and I would buy it for 3DS if it was re-released (although I guess if it was re-released in 3D it does give it a reason to be re-released). I bought the Zelda re-releases. Heck I would buy Metroid re-releases.

Why? I cannot explain. And that's why I like this discussion. It just made me think about why I do it, and I think it's the comfort of just plugging it in on the portable.
Of course you can argue that a game loses its value of replayability when you actually know story/levels. I played through Donkey Kong Country 2&3 like 7 times i think. But for some reason I would do it again, simply because I really enjoyed these titles. So that would make another reason for me. And then Kyle comes saying: "But if you enjoy them, why not simply plug your SNES in and save the money?". Yes you are right. And I cannot explain really why. This whole discussion turns out to become an epiphany of some sort to me.
However, I would always buy re-releases of games I enjoyed extraordinarily.

@Chel is it confirmed to be an Amiibo or just a fake/rumor being spread?

It's a real amiibo. As much as I like amiibos, some of them are fucking hilarious. All the Bowser amiibos in my store have lazy eyes, all the Zeldas have melted faces, one Bowser had his hand twisted sideways (he was eventually bought), A few of the Links have melted faces and lazy eyes, and so do a few of the others. And then there's this beauty:

I only got one Amiibo myself, which is Mario, mainly cause he will be supported in many games I guess. But I am planning on getting a Bowser one, cause I like the shell of the figure and a Ganondorf once they will release him. Also thanks for clearing it up for me. Very kind.

I'm really lucky with amiibo. Just accidentally found a bunch of Mega-Man Amiibos. Bought one, too. B)
