As stated in Chapter 3 in the First Pokemon Adventures Manga by the hero Red himself.
"Come on. You know it isn't really winning if your opponent's at a disadvantage"
I conclude my reason for why I am not partaking in this combat.
pokemon isn't an execution game, its a thinking game
unless his cold is causing mental retardation there is no real disadvantage

You obviously haven't read the manga, in the scenario, blue is attacking a wild Kangaskhan in an attempt to catch it, when throwing pokeballs, the kangaskhan deflects them but does not fight back, Red then stops Blue's attacks and runs towards the kangaskhan asking if it's baby is ok. To Blue's surprise, Kangaskhan's baby is poisoned and red states if the fire hit the baby, it could have gotten injured. Red heals the baby, the Kangaskhan thanks him and departs, Blue blames Red for the reasoning of why the Kangaskhan isn't in Blue's possession in which case Red says that very line.

waffles doesn't read, especially mangas.

I spent a good 30 minutes trying to find a swellow, only to have a random crit ohko it before I could catch it.
This game is fun

What strategies do you guys use a lot in these battles? Some of the stuff like Stealth Rock I heard about on /vp/ when I browsed there often a few years ago, but is it like turbo-meta-"gotta-have-this-poke-with-x-moveset-and-y-nature-otherwise-I'm-fucked" strategy I saw on some /vp/ threads or still just picking your favorites and going with movesets that are nice against gym leaders and stuff?

Because beyond status-effect moves and thinking ahead one or two turns I never really did much thinking.

Main game is EZ, use pokemon ypu like.

Online though, it is about x moveset y nature on z pokemon.

I know about the games and online in general, but how far along that spectrum are you guys?
I refuse to use pokemon that I dont like but I still make my pokemon perfect with EVS and nature (not IVS).
I also dont stick in 1 tier, at least not yet.

As far as online goes, knowing how natures, EV, and IV works is fun, but I hate actually training for them so I tend to not bother actually making the pokemon I find would be useful for online.

@Sargent¥

Fight me today, give me a time in EST, earlier is better.

As for people (YOU) worried about my cold it's fine today, so dont take me lightly.

Crushed through 3 gyms in about 2 hours last night using my Blaziken, now I've got six badges.

Also, what did you guys tell the news reporters for them to use as your battle quote?
No I'm not horribly overleveled, why do you ask?
I told them "Nitwit" mostly because that was an actual option in the originals.
