Invalid Appeal: Woody Johnson

  • If you are not the person that was banned/muted, you are only allowed to post evidence. Trash talk is unnecessary.
Unfortunately even if this is true, it's still your responsibility to protect your account. We have no way of knowing who is behind the monitor when cheats happen. Since your account was caught by SMAC, a program designed to catch cheaters, we have no choice but to keep you banned.
 
I've been playing in skial servers for a few years just about every day and nobody has ever reported me for cheating or hacking (nobody ever would either because i'm not very good).

Since it was a computer program that 'caught' me, I don't feel I should be banned due to some flaw in software. With no actual evidence of me cheating, how do you 'have no choice but to keep me banned'? Fact is, you do have a choice. Please un-ban me so that i can play on my favorite server.

False-positives with SMAC are extremely rare which is why we don't overturn SMAC bans.
 
We have tested and messed around with SMAC in the past and we have yet to find a way to trigger the sv_cheats violation without activating sv_cheats in source. If you want to convince us that there is a way to do this then the burden of proof falls to you, not us. Simply suggesting that the system is flawed isn't going to cut it.
 
Well i just typed sv_cheats into the console and it responded "sv_cheats" = "0" . does that count as proof?

if you unban me, and its not set to 0, the software will just ban me again. I doubt that will happen because plenty of other servers are letting me join and play.

Just because your sv_cheats is inactive now does not imply that it was inactive when SMAC banned you so no it doesn't prove that the program bugged out when it banned you. The fact that other communities haven't banned you also doesn't imply that your account didn't hack since your account could've just hacked once on Skial and not anywhere else.
 
I'm pretty sure my kid was in a replay of some kind. Don't you think its possible that sv_cheats was enabled in the replay when the autojoin connected causing me to get banned?

Also, its been a while but im pretty sure sv means that its a server setting so unless we're all playing on my server 'cheats' aren't enabled. smh .. . think about this .. . .what am i gonna be doing here trying to enable cheats? godmode? noclip? you have got to be kidding me.

get off your power trip. the software is not infallible. unban me kiddies im old enuf to be ur mom.
 
Playing a replay does not enable sv_cheats. You are right that sv_cheats is a server setting which means that when you join a Skial server that setting is locked at 0, and simply typing sv_cheats 1 in console won't change it. Only a 3rd party program can allow a normal user to override the server settings and activate sv_cheats.
 
I'm telling the truth and you're just being an ass. You're asking me to prove something that is impossible to prove without traveling back in time. Its a fucking pub, you know? Its meaningless. Nobody even cares if they win or lose, we're mostly just there for the items and comic relief. Its all supposed to be in fun and you're acting like this matters SO MUCH you can't just trust me one time. You have no proof that i was cheating or even trying to cheat, no complaints or reports from other players, nothing. All you have is your stupid software, SMAC or whatever, to make your decisions for you. I'm an actual person who wants to play and have fun which is why the server is there but you can't take my word for it because ... ?? you're a douche i guess... I don't need to cheat because i don't really care if i win or lose, i mostly just use this game to pass the time between more important things like wiping my kids ass and cleaning up their mess. Its fucking crazy to me that you wont un-ban me because of this bullshit.

Have your little power trip if it makes you feel important. I'm sure your family is very proud that you are an admin of a TF2 server. Bravo to you for doing this very important work. Where would we be without you kyle? The TF2 universe is 'safe' from all those 'hackers' who use sv_cheats 1 to float through walls and spawn endless sentry guns LMFAO. Kyle saves skial from the big bad woody johnson pointed right at its ass. hahaha. LUBE ME UP!! hahahaa . . have fun.. oh wait you probably can't, coz ur a giant douche and anyone who likes you is probably also a douche.

There's nothing personal about this. Everyone who has been caught by SMAC without proving that it was a bug on SMAC's part has been denied just as you have. It's hard for me to just take the word of someone I've never met before over the word of a program that I'm familiar with. I'm sorry if you thought that my responses were a personal attack but you've got to understand that we deal with these cases all of the time and it's hard to just take someone's word for them not hacking without any sort of proof.
 
You would have to use some form of workaround to get sv_cheats 1 enabled on our servers. Our server defaults to automatically setting your client side variable of sv_cheats to 0. Using a 3rd party program is the only way to force enable cheats on the servers. The same kinds of 3rd party programs that enable aimbots.
