And i don't have to explain shit as to why to nobody.

You don't have to explain shit, but why is he a nobody? He's 42 overall in connect time, and the Turbine server has a large crowd of regulars that like him a lot. I doubt there is anyone that plays there who doesn't know who he is.

As Doctor Aibolit mentioned, the guy is pretty dedicated to the server, so at least show him some respect for that.

As the people who are voting -1 don't play in the server, and because the forum users grossly out number the people that play in turbine, this seems like a lost cause.

You need to look at things from our perspective. To probably 98% of us here, you're a stranger coming in wanting the ability to ban and unban players on one of the largest gaming communities in TF2. We have no idea how you handle yourself under pressure, how competent you are, if you can keep your cool, whether or not you'll abuse your powers, so on and so forth. We know little about you and so far, what little we do know about you is getting you lots of negative support.

Admin applications are taken very seriously, there is a average of a 4+ month long wait between each admin batch and you have a lot of competition to go up against. Only the best are cherry picked from those applicants. That being said, if you want to be taken seriously and want a serious chance at admin you need to stand out from the rest of the applicants and prove that you're a competent trustworthy person with quality traits that admins need to have.

My advice to you from someone who has been through the application process twice now; file reports on the forums with proper evidence when you run across rulebreaking, becoming a regular on the forum is not a requirement but can gain you a ton of support if people here like you and it will help us learn what type of person you are and how you 'operate', fix your ban command, take the "nit picking" you're receiving as constructive criticism instead of taking it with slight hostility, and work on your ability to stay cool under pressure because so far you've been getting visibly agitated with some of things being said.

For the record I'm not trying to be offensive or attack you, I'm throwing my opinion and advice out here.

I think Johnny is referring to "nobody" as anyone, I don't think he's calling Lord a nobody.

That's not necessarily a bad thing, you're getting -1'd by admins and forum regs.
  1. Admins were picked to volunteer here so they know what they're saying when they leave their insight on you.
  2. Forum regs have seen countless applications pass and get declined, by that, they can tell whether a person has traits that determine whether or not one should become admin.

I often see him on turbine, i have nothing against him, have never muted him because he does bring up interesting topics of conversation now and then. However he does also talk nonsense (sometimes), not to mention that he sounds drunk all the time whenever he uses his mic, which he does a lot. Maybe it's the way he talks in real life too but i personally wouldn't take him seriously if he were to be an admin. To me he just makes the server lively and entertaining but i don't think he has the abilities to be an admin yet.

He didn't even bother writing a decent app. I was on the server when he decided to apply as admin, he took like 15 minutes to write it.

-1 for now

LordThree abuses his "popularity" on the turbine server to try to get people banned. He's done it to me personally. He's drunk and belligerent a lot of the time, and he uses the group mentality to verbally abuse people. He's called me a c*nt and told me ever so nicely to suck a part of his anatomy that makes me ill just thinking about. He's discussed in detail what I would need too do in order to be able to get on my knees and worship this part of his anatomy. Unless you ingratiate yourself to him (if you're female) then you are considered worthless and he will degrade you in any way he can. He does this all openly on mic. I don't even have to say a word to be harassed by this person. Sure, he goes on that server regularly and has some people that find him amusing, but if you are smart, make a new name, log on and listen to how he treats people. I couldn't think of a more unfair person to have as admin.

As mittens, the best kitty once said.

"If I wrote +1 you wouldn't ask me why. You would just say "thank you"

Actually quite the contrary, I think votes that explain why they voted the way they did have more sway over those who simply +1 or -1. Just my opinion though, I don't want to start a debate in an admin application. I just don't understand why you'd negative impact someone's application without atleast giving them the courtesy of explaining why, you'd want that same courtesy I'm sure.

I played on Turbine a total of 10 minutes, I don't even know who this fellow is, just a trend I've noticed.

Someone makes a logical point and this is the response.

I'm not sure it even makes sense.

Let me make something clear, I applied for this because the admin we have/had (fluxcap) has started another job and been busy lately. We had a hacker come in the other night who was literally shooting BEHIND him. Camping camper and Mr.Turtle can verify this. It was around 1:30am EST and !votereport failed because he was changing name too much.

This is the only type of situation that I would ever want to kick someone. Sure there are trouble makers and racists, but it's the hackers who hurt the server the most.

After trying in vain to get an admin, he was booted by source which I suppose is just as well anyway since a source ban seems like it supersedes a skial ban. Server died anyway shortly after as a result.

If you don't play on turbine, let me try and explain to the uninitiated.

We have a small, fairly tight-knit community that play there regularly and play there often. Most everyone knows everyone.

As TF2 has been slowly dying (and will drop again after x-mas) turbine doesn't run all night all the time like it used too. Most of the night time crowd (the people who don't start playing till 10pm) usually clear out by 1am and there is a lull in the server. This is the moment that determines if it will have a second wind or not. If bots come in, it's over for the night, but if you can keep it going till 2am, then a whole new crowd of people come in and it will stay open past 4.

The only decent admin turbine has ever is fluxcap, and as I mentioned above, he can't always be reached. Other admins that come in abuse the server, like this douchebag for instance

This clown was getting dominated and decided he'd rather just turn noclip on rather than legitimately get revenge.

So please believe me when I say that while I appreciate the bureaucracy (heh) of your little forum here, the entire admin application system seems like a farce of red tape.

I hadn't been on the forums for so long I forgot how insane it is.

I do smoke a lot of weed and have my whole life. My voice always sounds kind of fucked up- I'm in my 30's now and it's just kind of stuck that way. I didn't know that would be a qualifier. My apologies.

Some of you apparently think that being an admin is some kind of privilege. I look at it as a chore.

I've been admin on many servers over the years, and the one thing they all had in common was, admin is a zero-pay job, with nothing but headaches for benefits

I assume you have a bunch of people abusing admin (see above link - your vetting process seems to be lacking) but honestly the thought never crossed my mind. I saw a message in console ASKING for REGULARS to apply. I thought I was helping out skial and the turbine community by being willing to take on this burden, but instead I'm greeted with snarky comments by people who [some of which] don't even play tf2.

Go ahead and lock the thread down. This is my official withdrawal. I don't need this crap. If Bottiger asks me to re-apply sometime in the future I might consider it. For now- fuck this noise.

P.S. piss off- Farrah lol

And not a single (at least public) report was made for any of these. I'm sorry, but that just shows how little you truly care.

And I also know there are plenty of good admins that do not abuse here that you can trust, like Meowcenary for instance.

If you make a lot of private reports, disregard this, I was just pointing out a fact. Also, what of the voteabuse accusations?

Also REMOVE CDAWG memes.

I enjoy playing tf2. I tried to get a recording, but lets face it, by the time I uploaded it and put all the appropriate information in on the forums, the guy would be gone anyway. I'd have to leave the game and jump thru a bunch of red tape and then it would all be for nothing. I think I already addressed vote abuse allegations above- unless there is a specific one you want to point out? But anyhoo. never mind. fuck it (drops mic & walks)
