30 fucking dollars?

I don't even think that Arma 2 and Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead were that expensive...

Yeah, tbh I was expecting $10-15. $30 is around what I wouldn't expected to pay for the finished game.

I think they were originally planning on doing minecraft like pricing and increasing the price as development moves towards a finalized product, in which case I wonder what the final product will cost.

I thought I would be $20.

I guess all the new features like going into buildings and search through all 10 stories of one is cool

well, considering the guys probably didn't earn that much with the mod (since you had to buy arma) i think this might be a bit to compensate but they did have to build a whole new engine themselfs...
still, it is a bit high for alpha, could have a bit of discount

Used to play a hell of a lot of the mod for Arma 2 so this is just a must have! :D

"Dayz standalone will utilize a Minecraft-like sales model; this will allow players to pay a much lower price for early access to the alpha/beta releases while helping to fund development toward the final product."

i'm guessing the price wont lower since it probably is at the lowest they will go just for development

Read some reviews on it, basically while people like the game, they're telling others to hold off buying it until they add more to make it worth the price.

Bit of an old topic, but better responding here than making a new thread. DayZ is currently on sale for those interested, $25.49 (-15% off) on Steam.
