I've been trying to get steam to launch for at least fucking 20 minutes.
 
I don't know where else to post this but it's pretty depressing coming from Valve.

Most likely this'll get ignored since you guys just like to play your video games.
 
Yeah I saw that too. :\
Which sucks coming from Valve. They know people are still going to use their platform anyways.

I've seen it, but I ain't jumping to conclusions just yet.
I don't believe that at the end of the day any company is looking out for my best interests. But I'm also not going to go "The sky is falling!" until I know more about what's going on.

EDIT: So far this smells like a hoax. It's a semi-plausible claim made with no actual sources.
Nobody knows what .dll this is supposedly contained in.
It was released by a hacking site admin.
Most plausible theory so far is that it's for a bloom filter if it exists.

He said they check to see if you are communicating with known cheat/hack servers/websites or whatever, not simply looking at their website.
