As a avid player on the Thunder Mountain sever in texas we expericend huge lag spikes for no reason, this has benn happing for a while now and now im just tired playing under these conditions

Are there ever any server messages that pop up in chat saying something about a possible ddos attack?

well the servers i have seen or notice is TM and upward but there is no msg or warning this has been going on about 2 months

It feels as if it always is like this. I have been playing on TX servers for a while and they usually will just get really laggy at points. It is not as frequent as it was back in August but it is still around. Idk hispanian, I think that is just the way it is

I saw this happen for a couple minutes. I sent a message to the host and they said the lag is gone now.

you're most likely referring to the ddos. I'm sure it attacked all servers as badwater ny also got ddos'd

I really dislike it when people just throwing the word DDoS like it's not a big deal. A DDoS is a federal offense as well as highly malicious online crime. It shouldn't be casually tossed around claiming its happening around the playerbase unless it's certain and especially not in a joking manner if a joke isn't aparent.

You shouldn't throw claims of DDoS like it's normal or not a big deal cause it just makes you look bad. Look how much fun people made fun of M1dnight when he constantly claimed he was DDoSed. Skial's not above that humility nor do I want Skial to be known as that "reddit hated server who cried DDoS".

Especially if Bottiger says it wasn't one.

No one here is saying its normal or isn't a big deal. We're just trying to say that we think its likely a ddos attack given what he described.

I can't speak for the others but I'm not making a big deal out of it because there's really nothing I can do about it other than inform him of what it might be. As far as I know the only people who can look into it are some of the Skial staff. The only thing everyone else can do is say "shits lagging yo".

Even if we are wrong no one here is putting on their internet superhero costume to go dish out some misguided vigilante style justice to some suspected person ddosing Skial.

Not to mention it wasn't all that uncommon for me to see occasional server warnings about a possible ddos attacks so I'm assuming they're not that rare on Skial servers.
