Hat command now disabled on quickplay servers

It has come to my attention that someone on Reddit is encouraging the reporting of our servers ever since the new quickplay rules have come out, banning some very commonly accepted server benefits.

Because of this an update has been rushed out to disable the hat and saxxy command on all quickplay servers.

With the way things are going I would not count on it. If we have to remove our servers in the near future, it would be kind of pointless for Bottiger to spend his time making a new plugin for donators.

What are we supposed to replace them with? Valve is threatening to ban servers that modify items in any way.

No, just /hat and /saxxy and only on quickplay servers.

I really don't understand what's so game breaking about players having fake hat effects. Valve wanting us to remove /saxxy would make sense I suppose because it is "giving" you an item albeit temporarily but unusual effects? Sheesh valve. Good thing I don't donate for perks.

Obviously it goes without saying that saving this will save players but a lot of people on reddit either believe reserved slots are now banned, or they are strongly pushing for their removal.

I am not a donor to skial however I seriously think is rather harsh on decent communities such as skial. Really was no harm in the unusual effects and such.
Also have never been kicked for a reserve slot either.

I'm not entirely sure how the reserved slots work here. I think it was said somewhere that each server had a few invisible slots which can't be used by non donors and this is why we sometimes get 25 or 26 players on a 24 player server.

That's how it works, no one gets kicked. As far as I've seen.

I blame communities like Nighteam and their noclip and godmode donor perks for this. If communities like them didn't have such ridiculous donor perks for their pub servers, Valve wouldn't have had to put their foot down over it in the first place.

I wonder if Valve is going after end-of-round immunity, seeing how it can hinder the Geneva Contravention achievement and the Kills During Victory Time Strange Part
