I believe that this was already suggested, so I will just put my arguments:
Pros:
  • It seems that Garry's mod is currently popular, probably thanks to gaming YouTube channels
  • Although it isn't F2P, it is cheaper than CS:GO and such
  • Like TF2 it has many community gamemodes, which are probably more popular than the game itself
  • It is easier to customize code than TF2
  • Custom addons that require client-side modifications can be organized into a workshop collection
  • Garry's mod can mount some Source games from player's Steam library for content and maps
  • There aren't issues like fast respawn, trading spam, class limitations...
Neutral:
  • It doesn't have any kind of Steam inventory
  • Updates are usually smaller than on other games
  • You can set up a loading screen
  • It isn't developed by Valve or any large company
  • Standard gamemode doesn't have a goal

Cons:
  • There aren't any quickplay systems
  • It seems that there is no way to get an advert MOTD
  • There a lot of gamemodes
That's all I knew to write while I was writing this...
If Skial Garry's mod servers can't happen, then it would be nice to have a forum section/other games subsection.

I would say dump and confuse to that post, but I am too lazy to make a double account or something just to vote it two times...
On topic and out of joke: I don't really know is that about DDoSes true, but I personally think that Garry's mod is not friendly for servers because of no quickplay, weird server rating system and most of all, unavailability of advertisements.
 
I think it'd be pretty cool but then again, I feel like it'd have a lot of bad things about it as well.
 
I've hosted a Gmod server several times in the past. Here's what happened every single time:
  1. Everyone will start messing with other people's things.
  2. Some will spawn in weapons and shoot other people who are building things.
  3. Someone will nuke everything.
  4. Another person will nuke everything in retaliation.
  5. Somehow, it always devolves into a sniper war/prox bomb traps.
  6. After 1-2 hours, once someone leaves, everyone else leaves.
  7. People spawn contraptions that will lag the server to hell.
  8. Once the sandbox gamemode gets boring, people will want to switch to something else like Murder, Cinema, Pirate Wars, or Prop Hunt.
  9. It gets clusterfucky once there are more than 8 people on the server, even with large maps, due to people wanting a lot of space to build.
  10. Disabling PVP damage, weapons, and noclip (ie. all of the "fun" things) gets boring really fast, people leave earlier.
Gmod is indeed a fun game, but it gets boring relatively fast after 1-2 hours, even with the most popular addons.
 
If there's a Skial Gmod server for Trouble in Terrorist Town, I'd play it. But if it's for sandbox, it wouldn't go well.

In my mind, that just feels like it would come out just like Jailbreak. Free killing and endless reports.

Then comes to mind is that if we had people messing with our props (like what Demon said) There would just be people reporting, "HE TOUCHED MY PROP!!!" It would be like if we had 35 jailbreak servers and were always full. There would be so many reports, that Botty would have to start a new website just to deal with all of the reports.

Because he can..? I don't know. This is not a smart suggestion anyway. If you think about it the report section would be a bigger shitstorm then it is now, and I doubt alot of people would even play on it. There are already bigger named servers and such that people go on.

isn't that how TTT is supposed to be played?

I mean, sure, there's a character that IDs dead players, but it's painfully obvious that the terrorist is still alive, since the round's still going. and unlike TF2 Jailbreak, only the terrorist knows what side everybody else is on

Won't stop people from spam reporting it from getting mad, and if its not killing it will be something else.

Also just came to mind that there is nothing stopping some one from going around and killing everyone.

Well if there's going to be a Gmod Skial server, I think it should be a TTT server.
