So I was playing on VS Saxton Hale and I voiced my opinion on the map we were playing... For the 20th time that day... I told them "This map really needs to be taken out of rotation (Weapons Depot)" I think we all know why (the shack glitch that makes the round last forever, trolls using water to kill players etc.). Apparently, a player known as "Wet Harmony" didn't like this idea and called for my immediate mute via the votemenu. While some of you may be thinking that this is a report, it is not. The Skial VSH USA server has almost no moderators or admins on it at any given time to make sure stuff like this doesn't happen. That the votemenu does not get abused and players do not harass other players. The community is so poorly maintained on VSH USA, that it makes you think you're playing League of Legends or DotA 2. They are immature, and have no respect for the rules. Either there needs to be more mods/admins in general, or Skial needs to be under watchful eye at all times. An incident like this is likely to happen again, and its a shame, because this VSH server has some really good people on it. Or rather it did. Now it's just full of idiots who either don't know the rules or can't give a crap if there are rules or there are not.
While I don't think that players would appreciate being under the watchful eyes of the admins, I think that the time for them to police themselves is very much over. I see stuff like this almost every time I log on. A little kid will talk on the microphone and then get muted for "Racism" or someone will voice there opinion and get muted for "Spam". The votemenu is abused and there is no one to make sure it does not get abused.

How are a small handfull of people supposed to keep a constant 24 or so kids in line? If you want bad, try out jailbreak. It's impossible for every one of us to be vigilant on these servers, most of them are dealing with jailbreak as it is.

So in that regard, we need more moderators? Is that what you are saying? If the Skial players ignore the rules, then something must be done. Otherwise new players will be shut off to the other services Skial offers. Surely, it doesn't take an entire moderation team to make sure one server is staying in line.

But I shouldn't need to report them if they themselves are breaking the rules. Skial is a big community. So why don't we have people to make sure the peace on the Skial servers is maintained? Shouldn't there be assigned moderators? People that players can get in touch with? Its the fact that I've only ever seen an admin come in on his own accord maybe twice to VSH, that it makes players think that they can break the rules as much as they like. And no one really reports players. Most of them are too stupid or too lazy to figure out how.

You're trying to ask a bunch of prepeubecents to not break rules and listen? If that was the case we wouldn't need moderators. Custom gamemodes are extremely shaky.

We don't have enough Mods/Admins to be assigned to 1 server. It's a lengthy process that takes time, we don't accept any applicant just to "maintain the peace." If you're having some trouble, the reports section gets a fair amount of attention from Mods/Admins, and it's not that hard to make a report, no matter how lazy or stupid you are. We have a dedicated form that's quite easy to understand. If it's happening to fast for you to handle, add an admin to your friends list and tell him/her about the situation. As long as your not overly rude, they are quite helpful people.
 
To be fair, report coming in from Deathrun/Saxton hardly ever get touched because no one really cares about custom gamemodes. We should do the same thing we did with Jailbreak, and assign moderators that actually play there to keep the peace.

It isn't that hard to rangle kids. Just do your job, mute them if they need to be muted, ban them if they need to be banned etc..

Actually I see five of them on TF2, one in-game elsewhere, and another 6 online. And they're there to be prodded when rules need enforcing. It is, after all, a volunteer group.
 
I barely ever see hale and death run reports so i have no sympathy for these servers. Submit more reports and then if the admins ignore them youll have much more ground to stand on. Otherwise quit whining.

Absolute bullshit. If you feel so strongly about maintaining these servers than you would do atleast one of the things people have suggested. And reports are easier than ever now that there is a template for them.

If we add more moderators then we can't trust some of them most of the moderators can abuse their power and many player can blame and report them.

If you aren't willing to actually report people breaking the rules then you really have no right to complain about them. You come off as extremely selfish when you come on here telling the administration team to do their job better when you can't even be bothered to contribute your part to the system by filing a report.
