{THAT} Fatal Xception :D

Scarcely Lethal Noob
I've been blocked from replying to my own appeal thread with additional information and was told by the ever awesome KillerZebra to create a suggestion thread. Nice how the same admin that bans you can deny your appeal.

I wasn't aware that spectating under any condition was a bannable offense so I hope to help other players avoid it by suggesting a rule update.

So you intentionally went into spec because you thought some players had better ping and the server was full. I would consider that a reason to kick, which Zebra did. Then you rejoined and went right back to spec, so he banned.

Since I wasn't on a team (spectate), I don't see how the clarification that "refusing to help advance your teams position" would be understood by any player in this context.
How about this:
  • Do not enter spectate to avoid confrontation with another player, you must disconnect.
    • Spectate is not allowed when there are no player slots available (I would think this could be done by a mod instead of rule)

It's kind of common sense. Don't sit in spec for an hour when the server is full, it's just denying a player slot to someone who might actually want to play.

-1 You we're taking up a player spot in spectate because Zebra killed you. Seems pretty fair to me.
This is not a place to discuss my ban, that thread has been locked. KillerZebra indicated I should create a suggestion to update the rule so here I am. I'm open to suggestion here. There must be a decent rule that applies to the situation here.

This makes total sense. Can someone cool down in spectate for 10 minutes? 5 minutes? 1 minutes? My original suggestion included a stipulation that a player shouldn't spectate when there are no available spots.

Back to the point. If spectating is a kickable offense under certain conditions. What rule would cover those conditions? Only if you state that you are waiting for another player to leave?

Most of us have common sense and manners and don't require rules to govern such simple situations.

You will just get kicked as you are wasting a slot that someone who wants to play can use. There's no hard and fast rule, just common sense as already stated.

I don't believe this is the case. I'd be interested to see how many people are in spec when all slots are full. Based on my experience, there are always 1 or 2 in spec when the server is full.

I'm pretty sure this is the case.

If you didn't get banned for being retarded, you wouldn't have made this suggestion in the first place.
