I am SteveC. I am an frequent player of your Badwater servers. I am also a twitchtv streamer, ponyville admin, and a High level 6v6/9v9 Scout main.

I believe by having myself associated with your staff will increase publicity of Skial and bring good things to the community.

Ban question correct on the first try, ok connection time. I would say that you should be sure to have some Badwater regulars post their support of you in this thread. It is not required to be a forum regular, but it helps since this is where reports and appeals are posted. Responding to those is an admin's main job.

I am Alice, a regular on both the Badwater US and Badwater LA skial servers, although I play on US much more lately. I pretty much know everyone else on the server as well. SteveC is also a regular. He is a competitive level player who encourages his other compy friends to join and play. It is a lot of fun having good players on the Badwater servers. The more fun people have, the more people remember the server, keep coming back, and the longer they play. The community among the regulars on Badwater US is a lot of fun. I know that SteveC can give a lot of time to Badwater US as an admin. He would be fair and not biased towards friends, which I believe is important in an admin.

Being an admin of another server isn't going to mean anything here. What you need here is support from the server you play on, good connection time, and good knowledge of the rules. Since you have an OK connection time, all you need is support from other players. Plus, it doesn't seem like you've gotten any mutes/gags. For now, I'm saying +/- 0.
 
Just looking at OP, it seems as if you feel as if only your popularity should be relevant in deciding whether or not you should be a Skial admin. I'm not too convinced your heart's in the right place.

Interesting chat log (Little bit of spam that could be cleaned up before the admin log.) 5 Days connection time isn't bad but could be improved.

I like the past admin experience tho' and no racism or Gags.

You seem like a really nice guy and nice videos as well. I am kind of wondering what the main reason is that you are applying for admin? Ideally it would be to answer reports on the forum, keep the servers free of racism, spam and hackers. Not so much because you think it will bring players in due to the popularity of your streams. How would you handle someone spamming chat while you happen to be streaming?

I feel having "popularity" isn't the reason he mentioned it, but because it would be brought up inevitably, and in my personal opinion, it gives credence to possessing the capability to handle admin abilities. He is currently responsible, has a current track record. We ask "past admin experiences" for the similar reason.

Dave mentioned "heart in the right place" as a reason to -1? We don't care where their heart is. This guy is a respected member of the entire game's community, and shows that he is able to handle large responsibilities in a serious manner.
The jobs of what he has done before and what he is willing to do now for Skial are , there's no reason to discredit him because he didn't do it under our banner.

If someone has a valid reason to -1 him, shoot. However, I don't see how it wouldn't be beneficial for our servers to have him as admin.

You seem like a pretty cool guy, you have a decent amount of playtime, both TF2 and Skial servers, and you seem pretty mature.

I'm going to leave a +1, good luck with the rest of the app :)
 
Responding to the general doubts of integrity in my application for admin. I understand the feelings that arise from my initial post.
I don't really post on the forums, I tend to only play at really late obscure hours(12am-6am), and I don't actively have a record for being a SM server admin outside of ponyville/TFTV pub... But I believe that I can help in the quality and overall experience of the servers.


I enjoy socializing with the regulars at an interpersonal level and try to discourage untimely behavior. I actively try to participate in the general TF2 community and on Skial servers. So yeah, I might not be the next most qualified admin in the entire history of server admins, but what I can do is keep the current positive atmosphere this community while properly enforcing the rules.

This sounds like you think you'd be doing us a favor by having Skial associated with you. Tell me what you think you can do to help the servers and what "good things" would come to us by associating ourselves with you?
