I was watching Sudden Death XIV this weekend and I realized we have a lack of smash bros discussion here.

SDXIV Project M Grand Finals

SDXIV Melee Grand Final

SDXIV Melee Doubles Grand Final

This is from another tournament (Big House 3 - Oct. 12-13), but still a sick match nonetheless

edit; completely forgot about the newly released Smash Brothers Documentary:
(Part 1 out of 9)

One of my favorite videos
7:35 if it doesn't work.
Crowd goes crazy once DJ Nintendo pulls out bowser.

I had no clue people played this competitively like this.
Evo 2013 had hundreds of people come out to Vegas for a 3 day tournament.
The livestream hit over 100,000 viewers.

The Big House 3 was on Oct 12-13, had like ~90 people iirc.
Sudden Death XIV had at least 60 people.

For a game that's 12 years old, we have a crazy community.

After watching these video I feel like playing brawl and melee again, and realizing I would never be good as these player :c.

All of these people have a ton of experience and practice.
M2k, who won The Big House 3, started out awful. But with dedication he climbed to the top. It's all just a matter of practice and frequently playing smash.

I would practice but first I have to fight my pc addiction.

All of Melee's top players have all retired, and one of them only plays the original N64 version. M2K was nowhere near top 5, let alone top 15 when SSBM was in it's prime.

I dunno anything about SSBB though :\

Basically a mod for Brawl, this being the release trailer.

The latest update trailer. This mod has honestly given me the best Brawl experience, because it has the balance of Melee without making me re-learn Melee controls. Check it out in depth at http://projectmgame.com/en/

Yeah, a lot of new blood is in it now.
I disagree, I'd say m2k is\was way up there.

He might be now ( I don't know any of the current peoples, I don't follow) but the old top 5 was always some rotation of Ken, Azen, Isai, Chillen, and then PC Chris and Wes. The only time he was anywhere near a good finish was when he was partnered well in doubles D:

OH, yeah. I'm talking about the newer gen.
I think Isai's episode may be my second favorite in the documentary.

R.I.P in peace KDJ, my favorite competetive gamer of all time. He was the very first kryptonite to the m2k steamroll when the top 3 (ken, azen, and isai) fell out of the game. I still think that it would have been incredible to see kdj vs mango at FC legacy, or at any event for that matter, but whatev's. Also, in response to fishy, m2k showed up as an important person on the scene right after MLG anaheim in 2006, when ken beat PC chris, so he's been around for a while.
