Anyone ordered one? My friend did over two months ago and it finally shipped a few days ago, it arrives wednesday, anyone got cool demos to try out?

So, anyone getting one? Or waiting for the consumer version?
 
I wonder if any of the developers ever think to themselves or joked around when they were making this "this is going to start off a whole new type of 3D internet porn isn't it"
 
I thought about getting the developer version and actually developing for it, but my skills are still not where they should be and I don't have the cash to drop on the thing right now anyway.

Just waiting for the consumer version.
 
Has anyone seen the InfinitEye?
I feel like it would be better than the Rift, but it didn't get enough support since the Rift got all the hype :(

Why? I feel like it's the next big step in the gaming industry. In my opinion, as soon as it goes from the developer version to the consumer one, the industry will boom and everyone will try to copy it, then the new, reinvented controllers will come (which people will bitch about a LOT), then they will turn to that gaming threadmill where you can run in any game.

I am personally uncomfortable with it. I will play with a mouse + a monitor, or a controller + a monitor, but I will never submerse myself like that. It's fucking weird.
I think it's because I believe as a society today we are all very disconnected, and 3D submersive shit like this will only make it worse.
Obviously, this is my own opinion. If someone else wants to use it, go right ahead. I will never own one.

Oh definitely. We already have so many shut-ins and people who play games for way too long every day, and this is probably going to increase the number of the people who do that, but I still think that it's going to be an amazing new way to experience video games
