I mean with the whole economy jazz being introduced the community can only grow from here.
Also there is scarcity of "128 tick" servers that basically promote smoother gameplay. Valve servers currently run 64 tick which leads to unreliable gameplay. I think any 128 tick classic competitive server would fill.
For those interested about 64 tick:

It would be nice, however, Bott doesn't seem too open to have servers for other games than TF2 (excluding the dead Minecraft server).

I'm going to +1 this, I'd reg the server.

Do comp servers fill better than casual servers? Defuse or Hostage? Something else like Arms Race? Obviously if we're putting the idea of a server out there it might be good to find out what's most popular mode.

Also, +1 since I'd reg the hell out of it and

Classic competitive, a defuse type gamemode where you must buy all of your own equipment. Casual gives you body armour + helmet every round. Casual is more popular but has it's own drawbacks due to the "casual" nature of it. I wouldn't mind either way though.

Well, we just added the CS:GO trading section, so yeah, it would make sense to back it up with a server...

We set one up on release day and it filled up for 1 hour. There's no evidence it will get any more popular as CS "pros" still prefer 1.6 and the type of people that play that game hate weapon and cosmetic updates that are currently keeping TF2 afloat.

Not to mention the one big problem: No ranked community servers.

Between TF2 and CS:GO I really don't have enough time to maintain both and from experience there is no one skilled enough around here willing to maintain it.

There's a shortage of 128 tick servers because it takes double the CPU and people don't want to pay for them, even Valve. If anyone tries to monetize it by selling their own cosmetics (the only thing people really pay for besides pay-to-win) Valve is going to shut them down.

Darn, well that sucks.

Someone should try and host it out of their basement for all of us to play :)
