I'm new to Skial, and first off, TF2 EU Skial servers are absolutely fantastic!
However, I just finished up a few rounds on Egypt, and for the entire game, we had 5 engineers placing level 3 sentries on the first point with no teleporters or dispensers.
Of course, they were destroyed over and over by demomen on the other team, but it made it extremely hard for our team to play.

Can we possibly see some kind of class limit like most servers use? If there is a class limit, it's too high, as I think having more than 3 of any class is just detrimental to the team.


And as a side request, could we possibly see servers dedicated to community made maps? I've seen some amazing payload/koth maps floating around.

Hi Void. You might know me as Tomatketchup, the biggest asshole on the forum, and I just want to tell you this is a new player on the servers, so don't be a douchebag to them, thank you.

As for answering the question, it won't happen, class limits aren't there and won't be implemented because Skial servers are on the quickplay feature and will be taken off the quickplay feature if there's any major modifications added to the game. Sorry for the inconvenience.

That's interesting though, does this mean Valve official servers also do not have class limits?
 
Valve servers dont have class limits but having them wont remove the server from quickplay

Good! I really hope it's implemented, as playing a team full of almost nothing but engies/heavies is a very boring game.

EDIT: I don't mean adding custom maps to the current servers, but rather setting up a separate server for custom koth/pl/cp etc like we have for jump maps.

I don't really know. I not only enjoy going sniper when we already have five to piss people off, but sometimes that many of a single class is indeed good.
EDIT: May be able to put it in the votemenu.

I can't see why we'd ever need more than 3 of any class, it just causes imbalance.
I understand wanting to play a specific class, but if I join a server with 3 soldiers (my main), I'll play whatever we need.

Adding it to the vote menu would be great, it could prune off the duplicate class with the least points and suggest a class to play.

Enemy team today had four engineers on the last point in dustbowl. They were defending so well that they managed to push us back to spawn and set up their sentries in the original positions.
 
We used to have a custom maps server. However, it does no longer and the only reason I can think of as to why would be that it had a really low population. It also could have been taxing for Bottiger to maintain which custom maps get put on there.

I also highly doubt Bottiger would put in class limits, but you never know.

-1 for class limits from me though.
If we have any dead servers, I'd be willing to bring back the custom maps though.

and that makes an incredibly boring match when you have to get multiple ubers to deal with 4 engies

Yes but removing two of those engies from playing that class would most likely have cost them the game, sending people into rage. Losing players here is not good.
 
For custom maps, maybe even a server for the "pro" variants of maps, such as koth_pro_viaduct, and the likes.
I'm sure they'd be popular enough.

if your defense is good you would still either make it a long round or win the round

Exactly what I've been thinking.
If having 4 engies or 5 heavies is what makes your team wins, then there is obviously some kind of imbalance.

However, I do prefer the idea of either adding it to the votemenu so you can choose the classes that are doing terribly yet taking up a slot on the server, so that you don't accidently remove your good engineer instead of the 4th engie building in the wrong spot on the map on his own.

Yes, but it would most likely still make the enemy mad if they lost. The engies were miles ahead of everyone else in points, so I don't know if they would have still won. My vote doesn't really matter; I shall stop replying
