So right now you can vote to turn alltalk on or off using /votemenu.

If you try to turn alltalk off it almost never passes. People love having alltalk on for god-know-what reason. They love talking smack to the enemy team or just having conversations with everyone on the server. Most people know and prefer Skial servers because alltalk is on.

Then there are people like me, people who want to actually tell their team mates where sentries are, call out spies, etc. Of course people still do this despite alltalk being on but it's a lot easier with it off and especially if you want to say something like "take my teleporter it goes behind enemy spawn..."

Just leave alltalk on permanently (no vote) and have this plugin.

People will know about the plugin by typing /help and the intruction will be included on the help page. There can also be an additional server message telling people about team talk.

That would be a really big mess to pick and choose which servers get an alltalk vote and which ones dont. All servers can have alltalk turned off, but there are some servers where people will rarely vote to turn it off.
 
Alright now that this is on can we get a message in chat to tell people about it? At least temporarily. Otherwise only a few forum regs will be the only ones using it and that kind of defeats the purpose...

And I think it should be mentioned in the /help thread. I also made a sticky with instructions so the average player can make use of this.

Can we please get a server message for this? People still complain about alltalk and call votes to turn alltalk on/off which could be avoided if they just knew about this plugin. Hell, a lot of players already have a key bound to use team talk because of other servers but don't even know it's on Skial.
 
I have two questions about team talk.

1. When using teamtalk as a cloaked spy, does the icon still show above their head?
2. Does your team KNOW you're using it or do you have to tell them? (is the voice chat icon different on your screen)
 
I didn't even know this plugin was on the servers. Is there something that says the plugin is running on the server?

1.The icon won't appear for enemies afaik.
2. They won't know, the icon is the same. But this is another reason to have a server message... so that people know you are using team talk when you give obvious team-based info. And not think you're an idiot saying "I'm sitting on the engineer's dispenser ready to sap" on alltalk.
