"There have only been 6 recorded invalid VAC bans" :c
Same here.Well shit, I'm actually worried now. If both you and Bottiger got banned unfairly, I don't know if I want to keep buying games on Steam..
I've spent about $400-500 on TF2 alone, not counting the other hundreds I spent buying other games
6 that they're willing to admit anyways.![]()
It's not probable but it's possible someone gained access to your account and then used hacks on it, or some other illegal activity such as duping.
Do you use the same password on your account elsewhere? ANY other site, including email? And check your spam/deleted box for any emails from steam. If you use gmail you can see if anyone has accessed your email as well.
nope.
valve password is different from any other passwords
How protected is your computer? Is it possible yopu had a keylogger or something?
Using some different ones ALONG with avast never hurt.I use Avast! one of the best free Anti-viruses out there.
any ideas on what I should include in the ticket?
Would VAC ban for even simple duped items like metal or stranges?
Would VAC ban for even simple duped items like metal or stranges?
This is the ticket I'm about to submit:
Today, I've logged into Steam on my personal computer to see that my account had been VAC banned and all my TF2 items erased other than the Uncraftable ones.
I do not understand why this ban was added, and I already understand you zero tolerance policy to remove or provide information on bans. However, this is my last and only resort to try and figure out what happened. I've asked an online community on what to ask and they suggested to include any changes to the Steam folder in the past month. Below are some of the changes that I've made to the Steam folder recently.
Today, I moved my "SteamApps" folder to my desktop to try and fix a bug with TF2 by reinstalling the entire game. However, my computer lost connection mid-download, and I renamed the new steamapps folder to "SteamApps - old" and moved the old SteamApps back to the Steam folder. However, while the files were being moved, I cancelled it because it was taking longer than expected. Then I tried moving the file again, this time with more success.
Also over last night, I ran a virus scan just as a regular routine every week, and I found nothing. The Virus application was Avast!
It was also suggested that I include any game mods that I have, and my activity within the past 24 hours.
I currently, in my TF2 custom folder, have a custom HUD, a reskin for the sniper scope (removing the scope overlay and retexturing the sniper dot), and some custom configs for classes and an autoexec running a popular performance script.
I logged in around 10:00 AM this morning, and had no kind of VAC status on my account. I logged off around 11:30 AM, and logged back on around 8:00 PM today to find that my account had VAC banned. I received no information that I was, or why I was banned. After which I posted a thread on a popular gaming community forums asking what had happened, and leading up to me posting this.

Best of luck. It was MOST LIKELY that steam apps thing.
