People saw the stupid boogaloo video and kept saying how cool it would be if it happened. Well Valve actually listened and made this update. Now everyone is pissed off that it's just a bunch of hats.

Valve adds new weapons - people get pissed off that they are unbalanced or that they didn't add enough.

Valve fixes bugs - "WELL YOU DIDN'T FIX BUG 'X' THANKS A LOT VALVE ONLY BEEN A GLITCH FOR 2 YEARS NOW"

Valve adds a new game mode - "Well this is neat and all but FUCK YOU VALVE for making me buy ticket- oh wait I don't need to buy tickets? Well fuck you anyway Valve!"

Sometimes the TF2 community really pisses me off.

"I just shit on your plate, but don't complain because I did it for free."
There is no excuse for unbalanced weapons, maybe if they play tested more this wouldn't happen. There is no excuse for not patching a bug that has been around for 2 years, it's just lazy. Especially when the community has been complaining about said bug for a while.
Valve isn't the messiah of gaming.

Valve isn't perfect but all anyone does it bitch at them.

No wonder they don't wanna fix this game.

I may have not been around TF2 since the start but I've been around long enough to tell that the updates are starting to decline in quality. Imagine if something like MvM came out in 2007. Do you honestly think 2007 Valve would force you to pay to get those neat new items?

Valve doesn't force you to pay.

Yes you need to pay to get into Mann Up servers. You need to pay to get those stupid Robot hats.
You know what's funny is that Valve could have easily forced people to buy tickets or pay for MvM mode but just like the normal game you don't have to. MvM is free. If you want extra stuff nobody is forcing you to buy it. Valve adds extras to the game but the game itself is free and you never need to spend a single penny on anything. Valve doesn't make you buy keys. Valve doesn't make you unbox. Valve doesn't make you do anything. It's your own desire that causes you to spend money on tickets or w/e. Sure Valve adds cool stranges and crap that people want but the fact is you don't need any of it. Valve isn't making you pay for those stupid robot hats.

And this is going to sound crazy but they actually want to get paid for working on a 5 year old game.

Valve participated in those updates. This one everything was created by the community valve made nothing
They make money on every key for the robocrates sold, they make money on every robocrate sold through the market, and a second income on every key sold through market.
They don't do anything unless it adds to the bottom line. creators get some money through sales, but not all.

  • Pallet of Crates
  • Source Engine updates
either of which are more than they did on the First Community Contribution Update. all they did there was add the Self-Made item quality

He means Valve created none of the new content. Including the Video which was a user made SFM vid.

And Valve shares key/item sales with the people who made the items.

Ahhh colloquial mistake on my behalf, "made nothing" to me relates to "making money"

Guys, I know games can be a very heated passion, but please take two steps back and just observe what we were given and appreciate it for what it is. It is a collection of hats with a similar theme, made by the community - for the community. Content patches (or patches in general) does not have to be extraordinary each time, and neither should you go all up in arms about a patch that only added optional content that adds further customisation in the game.

And for that special part of the community that just keeps going:

"BUT THEY ARE MAKING ME PAY FOR OPTIONAL CONTENT IN A FREE GAME!"

Well let's face it nobody is ever going to obtain a strange machina for example... you need to save all your drops for years to craft enough metal in order to trade for one. That's if you have one account and collect all drops each week and never trade for anything else.

But nobody needs a strange machina. It's rare and valuable so nerds rage when they can't get it and get mad at Valve for not making something that nobody needs readily available to them.

Valve should be contributing to the comp scene. Again a bunch of people got banned from ETF2L today because they had been using Openplugin and got VAC'd. All they wanted was a higher FOV and perhaps some transparent viewmodels.

LOL good fuck them. These borderline "cheats" shouldn't be allowed in the game... and I already know I'm gonna hear all kinds of justification for it. I've already read it all including that other games like Quake use a higher FOV so don't bother.

They're also stupid for continuing to use the plugin after Valve patched and even warned against using such plugins.
