Apparently there was an update to the Tapatalk plugin for all forums that automatically implements ads for mobile users. The ad revenue does NOT go to the site displaying the ads, but rather goes directly to Tapatalk (which is already a paid app).
You have to manually opt-out of these ads if you don't want them. From what I've seen on the XDA forums (popular mobile device hacking/modding group), the plugin is set to auto opt-in to these ads.
Just wanted to pass this on so Bott sees it in case he wants to disable them (since I'm pretty sure Skial won't get any money for these ads at all, but Bott will want to read the fine print on that to be sure), and in case anybody else who browses Skial from Tapatalk isn't caught off guard if these ads appear out of nowhere.
