How is that overpaying when they cost $2.49 to buy from Mann Co?

Just because you can buy them from people on SourceOP for $2.00 doesn't mean that $2.00 is overpaying. Somebody still has to pay $2.49 for the key to be created.

This is exactly why keys cost 2.33 refined to buy in-game. The price of keys is a static value, and is easily the strongest foundation of the entire TF2 economy.

and also, keys are going for around 2.55 in game, which is stupid. It's dynamic, based on the price of refined. Ref is the foundation of the mannconomy. It's stayed at 90ish cents, fluctuating by around a nickel. It's also our currency. Works same way as money, you can charge whatever you want for something, but the people in power are those with the money. Ref in this case
