Freedom Planet aims to capture the spirit and raw energy of 2D gaming through a mix of engaging level design and straight-up action. I also hope that it can dispel the theory that games with fan characters have to suck; In fact, I think it can offer a breath of fresh air to the traditional Sonic formula, especially when you combine it with new gameplay elements. In this case, players have an Energy meter that is charged by building up speed/momentum and can be used to boost through the air (much like Sparkster in Rocket Knight Adventures).

will this get thrown onto steam greenlight?
That's the plan

Sometime within the next month, I'd like to setup a Kickstarter fund for the game, primarily for one reason - to make the final version as accessible as possible. With a little extra money (I estimate no more than $1000), I can purchase the following:

- SWF exporter (for exporting to Flash)
- XNA exporter (for exporting to Android and XBLA) Changed mind about XBLA in later post
- OUYA developer's kit (which is technically free, but having access to an OUYA would streamline it considerably)
- Access to Steam Greenlight
- A subscription to Soundsnap so I no longer have to worry about copyright issues with the sounds I'm using
- The Developer version of MMF2 so that I don't have to include the MMF2 logo in the final game

Wow, how did i miss that.

Quite impressed on the sonic fans, since most people (and me) think they are12 yr olds autists that makes some cringeworthy fandoms on DeviantART.

Checking out.
