Did they actually design the key or is it just a glitch? Also January 3rd is approaching fast, I wonder if it will be of any use afterwards.

They probably made one of the new items in the crates and set them in the workshop.

if your item in the steam workshop gets accepted and goes into an event crate like a fall or christmas crate you get a self-made key (fall, scorched etc) but after the item dissapears like january 3rd, the self made winter key would just turn into a normal self-made key
