I actually briefly played AoS when it was still in beta and was not owned by Jagex. Afterwards, I kept it in constant sight and looked over every update there was for it. It was recently sold to Jagex for a pretty damn decent amount and existed much before your Steam account even came into existence (http://aceofspadeswiki.com/index.php/Patches#Ace_of_Spades_Beta_0.1)

It was a nice game with tons of potential before and Jagex saw this. But instead of doing what they should have, they turned it around and now most of the beta players go to BaS (Build and Shoot -- a version of AoS that is very similar to the beta)

It was popular for a short time than went down for a year and I made my steam acc. and than it apparently is getting more attention.

off topic: I had a steam account in 2010 that I never used except for once in a while TF2

It's not worth it. Before it was bought out, It was worth my money.
Now... Damn Jagex. They fucked up an interesting game.
If it ever goes F2P though, I might try it.

before it was kinda popular but now it looks worse. I seen videos from the old version to the new one

^ NOTHING IS like Team Fortress 2

Actually, when news went round saying that Jagex bought AoS, everyone surprisingly wished for the best. Most of the bigger AoS communities pointed out that Jagex ruined Runescape before, but they simply stayed optimistic, hoping that Jagex has changed. As the trailer videos for the classes came out, you can tell that they did direct rip-offs of the TF2 classes.

So I'm guessing that it's not TF2 in the sense your thinking about it, but rather class-wise. In addition, watch the following video. It was the first class to have it's trailer released for AoS v1.0 (Jagex's version).

You can easily tell by the background music that's playing that the beat is very, very similar to that of the TF2 "Meet the.." videos and one of the devs even rips off a iconic line from the "Meet the Sniper" videos. Although I can't really say anything class-wise since I don't own v1.0, their trailers show that the classes seem like a mix of what the general public would expect of each class (miner is strong in building/destroying, sniper can snipe from long distance, etc) + Modern FPSes (Claymore, C4) + a mix of abilities of TF2 classes. (The marksman for example is a mix of a Scout + Sniper with the ability to place claymores. The miner is a mix of a demo + solly + engie with a few OP abilities such as inability to be headshot'd.)

Agreed a lot with that sentence.

It does appear like a TF2 rip off... Especially with this quote from IGN makes you even more sure that it's like a copy of TF2...

lol? I meant that no one really uses it and it's not a username you would think of. I put the Jar on Lid was an joke/saying thing people said.
512 people on Steam seem to disagree with you.
No shame in that though, seeing all them Motherships on Steam.

Back in pre pre release when i played it wasnt like tf2 at all. It had basic building destroying features and an fps game of what a highschool senior can make but better. Tf2 isnt the first class based system and not the last. I feel this game will be a really pixelated game that focuses on teamwork like tf2 but puts a higher stress on the environment and not over mindlessly rushing a route. The servers also are 32 slot default and had squads thst ideally would stick together and flank different places and times to catch them offguard. This was actually a really fun game if you take away the hackers. Kd does not matter as capturong intel does. I actually like the additions jadex is makin(shocker) if they will balance it all with a huge environmental map. Too early to tell but i must give them credit for trying to combine 2 huge aspects of different games.

I seen from videos that it was not a lot like TF2 but the newer versions (and trailers) make it appear like it. It looks actually like fun but to much like other games and looks like the game is going down in ratings.
