What is the best class to play with high latency?

Chuzzy

Somewhat Threatening Sniper
I've wondered what the answer to this question is for ages. I mean I get really laggy sometimes, and I'm not sure which class to play. I thought about Medic, Heavy or Engineer but I don't know if that's the best option.

P.S. "High latency" = 100 to 150+, becuase of jitter created. HORRIFYING JITTER.

I'd say Engineer but with RTR around try Medic first.

If your team blows even with a medic just hope for the best with engie.

hitscan classes like scout, heavy, and sniper with the rifles not the huntsmen.

An engineer's sentry is server side so your ping won't matter.
Medic is pretty easy but you might be a bit slow to react to people with low health who are dying
Sniper is pretty good with high ping as a command called cl_lagcompensation means that even if the person is around a corner on the server, by the time you see him with your high ping it counts as a hit.

The lag compensation for sniper makes headshots easier but if you have too much its obviously not good

I usually get around 80-90 ping

Engie. I always play as him when downloading a game, DR spies are flabbergasted at how I killed them even with the watch out.

Pyro, but 100 really isn't high latency.

I actually disagree with this, when I have ridiculously high latency reflecting and shit becomes much harder. I'll say my favorite class in the game heavy because lagging around a corner and into a bunch of people will be to your benefit. And hitscan isn't effected as much as projectile is by latency issues. But I do agree with the second thing, 100 is pretty normal..I don't consider high latency until about 160-170 region.

Who doesn't want 100 foot flames?

It is for me, creates jitter all over the place.
Jitter is the problem, not the fact that your latency shows 100.
