Hi there, my name is Aflac.
I was part of the group playing, and enjoying, the server earlier. (The Demoman Airborne)
I created a new thread because right away Freak (he had some fake "1337" name) took trolling to unreasonably stupid levels.

Now, let me clarify, I have no interest in being unbanned - that's Applejack. I don't want to ruin the experience of any players, albeit I was using weapons that are built into the game and the only people who expressed anger were CiNiC and maybe two others.

The reason I'm annoyed is simply the principle of the matter, so I'm here to give you a few suggestions.

I'm the co-owner and head disciplinary admin at the 3rd largest server in Garry's Mod (Serious Roleplaying Hell, for refence), and your lack of any sort ban appeal process, and more importantly a way of reporting admin abuse is quite odd in my opinion . Sure, with a game with as many 10 year olds and potheads as Garry's Mod, these are almost required, but I think with a community as large as yours must have an awful lot of admins, some of whom might not be very great at their job (see CiNiC). We have an "Ethics Committee" to decide on ban appeals and admin (and player) abuse reports, and when it's a big deal we have an open vote to decide on the defendants fate. Whether you go into that great of a system is no matter to me, I just highly suggest making a dedicated admin abuse section or child board.

Perhaps more important than that is a clear set of defined rules for the servers. Now, from Applejack's unban appeal it seemed implied by posters (most of whom's comments made me further not want to ever play on your servers again, hostility towards new people is not the most effective way of making friends, or in this case, players) that CiNiC administrated the server personally. CiNiC, from my experience with you on the server, and judging by your posts, you seem to have a social or intellectual problem grasping others rationality, which isn't great for being a server administrators. So, to counter-act that, like we do on SRH, we have a clear set of defined rules, much like a constitution. That way, any children or bad admins can have 'sheet of paper' that tells them what is wrong and what isn't. One of your rules on us29.skial.com should be something along the lines of
"There are certain pairings of weapons that annoy the admins - don't use them."
That leave it open to anything that may annoy you of the balanced weapons implemented into the game by it's creators.

Thanks for reading, and good luck with your servers,
Aflac

Well, I'm glad you have a set of rules, but I was never notified of them in game.
-Harming your team for an extended period of time (unless your team doesn't care). Example: blocking sniper views.
Now, this is the only rule that is close to what we were doing, however, we were not hindering our respective teams.

As I suggested, a set of clearly defined rules might be better than a vague set of guidelines. Here's ours for example: http://www.seriousroleplayinghell.com/ulx_motd.txt
If you're not willing to do it yourself, try a sort of meeting of the community to brainstorm up and write down some more clear rules.

Yes you were hindering your team. I saw your caber demomen get mowed down by 2 sentries.

While we should probably make our rules more prevalent, it is not our job to post the exact rules in front of your face so you can figure out how much you can troll without being banned.

I suppose you think it is ok to steal from a store if they do not have a sign at the door that says "do not steal". Our rules are common sense.

Our rules are already clear as possible. Your rules are too long and I bet most people don't even bother reading it.

We were not directly hindering our team in any way, and even if we were it was not out objective. Your logic would justify banning spies for being lit on fire by Pyro's, or a newer player not doing as well as seasoned players.

As stated, we had no intention to troll - we came on the server to play, and one of went demo airborne, some (not all) followed suit.

I suppose you think it is ok to steal from a store if they do not have a sign at the door that says "do not steal". Our rules are common sense.
Common sense is being able to play as any class with any weapons, since they are in the game, is it not? And there are laws for things like what you stated. If something isn't against the law but a place of business does not allow it, they post signage about it. Much like those cases on TV about breastfeeding mothers being kicked out of restaurants, you had no laws, no signage.

Our rules are already clear as possible. Your rules are too long and I bet most people don't even bother reading it.
True, but they are there to show we're not all powerful admins who ban on a whim and personal preferences.

Pretty much.
Roleplaying is nice for some people, but do not be surprised when more people think that roleplayers are no-lifers.
DURR, WE HAVE A MILLION RULES. IF YOU DISOBEY ONE, WE WILL FLAME AT YOU BECAUSE YOU ENTERED OUR HOUSE OR SAID HI TO THE WRONG PERSON WITHOUT ASKING PERMISSION OR DOING IT THE WRONG WAY.

This shows how little you know about Skial.
You might learn a bit from a community before insulting it.
I will now let Bottiger explain why you are so wrong and why you should dig a hole and die in it.

Well of course I know little, I joined the server a few times, was mistreated and now I'm on your forums trying to correct that, only to have the members of said community act like assholes and support a ban that was clearly not justified?
From my experience that's what I have learnt.

Demomen with sticky launchers and not sticky jumpers are the main tools against sentries. Sticky jumpers were never meant to be used in actual combat, and thus do not even drop randomly. Let me make this clear for you for the 3rd time. You were not banned solely for equipping a sticky jumper and a caber.

You were given multiple warnings to stop. Taking your example here, do you think it is reasonable for a woman breastfeeding in a privately owned restaurant who has been told repeatedly to stop, to continue doing it and then ripping off her shirt while letting the baby dribble milk all over the floor to aggravate the owner even more? The answer is no.

And also we do not ban on a whim and personal preferences. That's why Cinic did not ban you all immediately.

You come in and diss our community based on a small amount of experience and expect us to respond nicely?
At least, it was somewhat constructive criticism, I'll give you that.

I didn't even issue the ban.
Aw, c'mon, Aflac. No comment on "Octoheavy"?

Every action that I do goes by the rules and goes with warnings. I banned two very longstanding and prominent members of the community yesterday - we aren't partial to who breaks the rules.
Other than that, Bot said pretty much everything beautifully. The rules are based on common sense. I guarentee that anyone who is rational and looked at this tsunami of tears that you and your shitty clan have massed and how we handled it would love that we don't tolerate griefing assholes like you and your group. Use all the technicalities you want, but no one wants you. I'm extremely proud and glad to be part of a community that has perception to hardcore failtrolls like yourself.

I recommend that you remove your head from your ass, because the excess semen resevoir in there is preventing you from hearing a single syllable of reason.

Sadly CiNiC, I was in the hospital when the Comrades did Octoheavy, and was unable to attend. The other time it was done, I'm not even sure it was on Skial and the other team was one classing as well.
I don't recall receiving any warnings, I only recall hearing you saying something along the lines of "these demoknight faggots are fucking annoying" and comments about another Comrades idiotic racism, the latter of which I can completely understand.
If it was in text chat, then it was my own fault, but Applejack was using text chat and being quite polite with you, only to be called retarded and mocked. He never said to any of us that any of you said to stop.
And I saw no "tsunami of tears", the only people who seemed genuinely annoyed were yourself and maybe two others, but I was there to play the game, not cause any trouble.
Comrade "smokeweed" or whatever you will call him was pushing it, and I agree he should have been kicked.
Obviously there's no winning this argument, voice chat is a matter of he said she said, and despite looking like quite a diverse community who is divided on issues, it's only natural to form together under outside attack.
I'll leave you all with this:
  1. The Comrades are not a trolling/griefing group, and I will be asking the leader of the Comrades to change our bio so it's not misinterpreted again. Don't believe me? Come on FFN Back to Basics #3 (a server that tolerates a certain legitimate class setup) and see us play.
  2. Add a "No sticky jumper demo" rule
  3. Add a "No changing names during the round" rule
  4. Add a "Group tactics are not appreciated" guideline/rule
  5. And CiNiC, cussing and insulting like any 14 year old can won't gain you any respect, I'd stop doing it.
Thank you and sorry for wasting any of your time.

In the hospital for cancer.
My joke could not have been in better placement.

I was not the one calling them retarded and mocking them as profusely as ViperStriker did, who you are probably confusing me with. I did say, however, that I suspected Applejack of having a thesaurus built into his anime fleshlight because of all the retarded words he kept pulling out of oblivion.

1. No, I won't play with you.
2. Sticky jumper is fine if not used over and over to troll a competitive server with, and that's a ridiculous rule. The only application of it would be from extremists like you and your "well behaved" group.
3. Changing names during the game is fine. Changing your name to imitate other members of the community, as a joke to grief the servers, or to flaunt constantly using a ridiculous setup on a competitive server, is not.
4. mad
5. In the words of some random troll on 2fort on Skial many moons ago: "Cunt off, cumbucket." ;D

Also? "He said she said" doesn't apply when an admin, several regular and reliable members of the community, AND THE HEAD OF THE ENTIRE COMMUNITY are there.

P.S. - Anyone remember the LP fags? Deja vu.

A damn good argument it was. "It's in the game," and I just had to keep going by them taunting in a doorway just to troll me and getting their forward base killed because of it. Wouldn't even have a "no griefing" rule if not for them.
