Hello everyone, my steam name is Comrade Applejack. The name that I was banned with was Demoman Third Airborne. Now I understand that the "Comrades" have generally been frowned upon but I would like to be heard out in a very polite, cordial manner without and hostilities towards anyone.
I was playing, at the time at typing this, about fifteen minutes ago on one of the many Skial servers on Team Fortress 2 (I am not exactly sure what server it was).
The situation is quite simple, really. I was playing with a few other people who are part of the Steam Group Comrades, and we generally enjoy playing on Skial to be quite frank. One bizarre form of entertainment and recreation me and the other Comrades like to do actually is to go with a Sticky Jumper and Ullapool Caber setup. I cannot speak for any other Comrade, nor can I really credit myself for anything if they decide to post here.
To much dismay, this attracted the hostile and indignant natures of a few Skial members with whom the Comrades were playing. The two main members whom I believed that were annoyed with this nature the most were CiNiC, a moderator; and Anya, affiliation unknown. There was also a member of Skial whom I cannot remember the name of who was particularly hostile towards me in general.
CiNiC, in bluntness, believed this to be a form of griefing. This also attracted the attention of other Skial members of whom I cannot speak for. Now I'm not one for trivialities, but can I please ask what I generally did solely wrong? I tried discussing this issue with two memebers, CiniC and the unnamed, whom disregarded my words. The unnamed Skial member went as far as to facetiously refer to my language as being taken straight out of a dictionary, looking at words to support my argument. Seeing how their generally wasn't any reason, despite my efforts, to convince them that me and the Comrades were generally just doing it for fun, and not to grief, I simply continued playing. Through a ten to twenty minute period CiNiC begins going through the process of banning us, and when I try to question him, I am thoroughly insulted by the unnamed member whom insulted my dialect.
Now I hate to go personal, but this is the way I generally type; I do not type like this to assert any type of intelligence, nor am I typing this way to assert any type of anything, it is simply the way I type.
I digress, however, and generally I might as well get to my main concern and request.
I am mainly concerned in the concept of what CiNiC and any other affiliate of his believes is really "griefing" as the term is heavily subjective. If a few people are merely using one setup, might I ask how that really is griefing? I was, as said, using the Sticky Jumper and Ullapool setup for just recreational, personal pleasure; and to be quite honest, the weapon could be restricted (somehow I believe, if not I am sorry). Simply, CiNiC could have asked for me, or anyone using the set up to stop. But then, to be quite honest, I believe that falls in telling someone how to play the game. For myself, I wasn't using the set up to falter my team's progress as I believe CiNiC was trying to imply through his conception of "griefing"; I was still pushing the cart, or capturing the point whilst using the setup, I was also using the grenade launcher off hand to escape to refill my ullapool.
My request is that if something is generally frowned upon, then why should it be used in general?
I was having a very entertaining time using it, and I was still being progressive towards my team's path to victory.
Earlier today, one of my other Comrades, Rainbow Dash, was using the Sydney Sleeper (as an example), and was being treated unfairly via criticism through a select few whom are affiliated with Skial. To be fair though, he was resorting to provoking a member of the community, whom I believe is CiNiC and Rainbow Dash was also using racism.
That is all I have to really say on the matter and I hope that the Skial Community will take any ounce of my opinion into consideration. The only other general request I could have would be to be unbanned, but I am not sure of the probability on that.
Thank you for your time.
