Well yeah, if you haven't heard after the Election a couple of southern states have started sharing their interests for a secession and made petititions and actually got enough for it to pass that the US government has to give an official response.

Lol I saw this a few days ago, they aren't alone, there's a few other states too. But I don't think they'll pass. The amount of signatures is ridiculously low compared to the amount of citizens living in the state
 
Nope. The economic disaster that would be secession would be infinitely worse than anything the most staunch Republicans think Obama will do the U.S.A..

the Population of Texas: 25,674,681
Total signers: 91,893
so 0.0035791291817803 of the Texan population signed the petition actually less than that people people from other states have signed it as well
 
Nothing's gonna happen unless a verified 75%+ of the population of Texas signs this petition. You know that thing they keep saying? The one where they can secede any time they wanna? Yeah that's a bunch of horseshit and they would get their teeth kicked in if they tried. Plus, the government of Texas knows full well they need the federal government backing them to protect the borders.

It would be the end of any republican president. They have 38 electoral votes which have gone to the republican candidate since forever.
 
Its symbolic. Having followed elections for about 17 years now I can say that these last couple years have been the most divided Ive ever seen the nation. Over 30 states have petitions circulating to secede.
