I play mainly at PAYLOAD | EU and there are two annoying things.

1) The map time is way too long. If someone wants to play the same map for an hour, they can go to 24/7 servers. Most people playing at PAYLOAD | EU want to play different maps. Almost every time I'm there, at some point players rock the vote to change the map. For instance 20 or 30 minutes would be a lot better time per map.

2) Voting for the next map. Some time ago I tried to get someone to change this but nothing happened. Why must the vote always start during game? The vote could just as easily start when the round has ended. If it did, players would have time to actually think which map they want to vote. Way too often I (and many other players too) accidentally vote a map trying to change weapons or just press something to be able to switch weapons. The last time somebody just added the text "think which map you want to vote" etc. Why not display the vote a bit later since it would be so much more practical?

Changing these two things would be a huge improvement in my opinion.

Although, 45 minutes per map would be better in my opinion.
Also, if you type "!revote" into chat before voting has finished, you can re-choose your map.
 
You can also nominate a map at any time with !nominate.

I don't know about map times, I won't comment on that. I do like the idea of having the voting at the end of a round though.
 
Map time feels too short with 40 minutes
It feels like shit this short, 1hour rotations is why I stay on servers. This could cost you regulars
 
40 minutes is way better than 1 hour. I've talked with ~10 people about this, everyone's been very pleased with the change.
 
I play at EU servers, I've got no clue what's going on at US servers. In my opinion 60 minutes is just too long. Almost every time I play there people rock the vote to change the map at some point (not anymore since the maptime was changed to 40 minutes)
 
on valve maps chicago we've done 3 hours sessions of pl_frontier.
60 minutes isnt that long
 
Why not go to a 24/7 server if you want to play the same map that long? Everyone I've talked with wants to play different maps. 1 hour is just too long for a server with map rotation. I'd rather play 3-4 maps in 1½-2 hours than just 2 maps. I don't think that too many people at PAYLOAD | EU play more than 2 hours at a time.
 
Hard to disagree with that :p Why not try to change that? I'm sure a 24/7 is an option if there are enough players who want that.
 
Okay. Well, anyways I really like the 40 minute map time. Of course, if the majority of players prefer 60 minutes, then 60 minutes it is. But like I said, very often people rock the vote since they're tired of playing the same map for so long. Can't speak for all the players, but so far I haven't heard anyone complain about the change (except for you two).
 
The best idea ever. I'm so fed up with steamrolling some maps for so many rounds over and over again. 40 minutes is enough, 60 minutes is too long. Thank you Skial!

Ooh, a non regular who never had a single thought about donating whose opinion gets to fuck over the server for the rest of us. If ever there was a time to use the troll rating, it would be on you right now.
