Resolved Banned for?

  • If you are not the person that was banned/muted, you are only allowed to post evidence. Trash talk is unnecessary.

Got this ban message when joining a server today. I don't mess around, only play as intended. Not sure why I was banned. Can someone explain?
 
you're either on shared internet (like college) or you're the alt account of the guy that got banned.
 
But...that's not me? I had/have nothing to do with that dude. Does this mean that whenever he gets banned I get banned? I rarely use chat, much less "inappropriate language."

EDIT: lol no that's not an alt of mine. It's probably shared internet. So how can we resolve this problem?

Ah. I see the problem now. Ploink is linked to my IP, but there was a 'LOLSUP dude in 2fort at the same time as Ploink, so they can't possibly be the same person. I think you might have banned the wrong person?

er. the lolsup guy is the guy that got banned.
 
Yes, but if you click on the banned profile link it goes to Ploink's page instead of 'LOLSUP's page, and the most obvious proof is that Ploink never used the name 'LOLSUP, or else that would show in the player's name history. I honestly think someone was messing around, Ploink and 'LOLSUP are not the same person, but Ploink got banned.

To that moderator who made that post - well, to be honest I've been quite civil on your servers so yes I would see it as an error on your part if I'm banned for using racial slurs (which I clearly didn't). I guess I can end this by saying thanks for solving the problem, even though it's clear you want to cast some suspicion on my integrity. :)

Thanks for fixing the ban, I appreciate it and enjoy playing on your servers.
 
It was nothing against you personally, someone filed a report. Provided proof, but provided a faulty steam id.
 
My sincerest apologizes man. I gave the wrong Steam id when providing the report information.

Something wrong happened when I copied it, when I pasted the info into the thread it said LOLSUP next to it, and a Steam ID. It was the wrong one, apparantly.

Once again, all on me guys. Sorry Ploink. :(
