eXtelevision is leading the fundraising charge to send a contingent of 2 teams of 6 players each to represent North America at the upcoming i46 Multiplay LAN.
The LAN ( http://iseries.multiplay.co.uk/ ) takes place August 24-27th in Telford England.
Traveling costs from North America to the venue are eXpected to be very high. We are generously estimating, and hope that ticket prices go down.
In order to establish which two teams are representing North America, eXtv will be organizing a 4-team tournament featuring the 4 teams that qualified for the ESEA LAN, (Mihaly's Flow, Srslybr0, Classic Mix^, and Leviathan Gaming - formerly known as Quantic) playing with the i46 rulest.
There will be a round-robin to establish seeding, followed by a single elimination tournament. While we believe that sending 2 teams is a very realistic goal, we have to prepare for the reality that we might only fund raise to send 1 team. For this reason we will be a grand final is necessary to determine a 1st place (guaranteed tickets) and 2nd place (on the bubble).
eXtv has built a solid reputation through their involvement in the TF2 community for the last 3 years, and is stepping up here to assume the responsibility of handling this fundraiser and turning this into a success.
eXtv is not doing this alone. This fundraiser couldn't get to where it is right now without the help of many figures in the community. Now, we need your help.
Please help the TF2 eSport community make the dream of a global LAN a reality.

The top two teams are Mix^ and LG in that order. Mix^ will for sure be going, but extv needs help raising the cash to get these teams to Europe.

Just spreading the word.

you know if valve actually gave a shit about tf2 comp maybe they'd do something to help.

bump.

I did like $15. I'm actually thinking about buying a spectator ticket and going with some IRL friends as its about 100 miles east of me.

" Where do we come from?
What happens after we die?
what is conciousness?
what is good and what is evil?"
All of the above are questions that have echoed through the vestiges of time, rippling through the aeons and piquing man's inquisitiveness indefinitely; to these questions, the rise and fall of nations mean nothing and a great man's life amounts to a faint spark inside their eternal abyss of unknowing
However there was always one question that held the tightest grip on the heart of civilisation, a boundless chasm that begged an answer so truly that it has remained entirely unanswered until today:
"I have no money, how can I help extv get the yank teams to LAN?"
Apologies for the corny intro ;D however, I just wanted to drop a quick post to tell you all you tf2 redditors about this cool charity raffle EXTV are doing in order to raise funds to fly the very best of American TF2 players over to the United Kingdom to take part in the biggest TF2 Tournament ever!
*gasp*
In the raffle you can win massive jackpots of hundreds of hats and other amazing goodies and its well worth a look. We'll be posting on here for the big event, but for now EXTV is taking donations of items for maybe the biggest raffle TF2 has ever seen!
If you want to help out, full guidelines can be found here (http://tinyurl.com/c6zzqzv) but heres a concise guide for you busy guys!
If you would like to help with the item donations for use in auctions, lotteries and other events, EXTV are currently looking for the following item categories:
REFINED METAL & KEYS Although we do accept individual weapons and other forms of metal, refined metal is the most convenient to sell on and therefore profit from. We'd love lots of this.
HATS & OTHER ACCESSORIES These items will be used in large quantities for the lottery and auctioning bundles, as well as parts of other packs and prizes we will give away for profit towards the cause
STRANGE WEAPONS Strange weapons are really useful to us (especially the variants of normally used competitive weapons) and will be used in auctioning packs and other projects
PAINTS, TAGS & DUEL TOKENS These will be used to personalise the aforementioned accessories, and while less useful then the other items in this list, they are still very much appreciated
If you have any of these items that you wish to donate towards the cause, then the best way to get them to us is to add http://steamcommunity.com/id/extvauction to your friends list and trading that account your spare items, which will then go into extv holding accounts until the big day comes around!
No weapon will go unappreciated and no metal go to waste, and by donating items, you are making the dream of American teams participating at i46 become a reality.
And even if you don't want to give away any items, take part in the raffle and you could win big!!!
Chaplain :)

With such a great night of TF2 in store, we’re bound to get our money’s worth in entertainment as we aim to end these age-old arguments over which continent is better at TF2 – NA or EU? Is it better to give an uber to a Soldier or a Demoman? Are American’s really better at DM or can European Soldiers indeed airstrafe? To find out the answers to these questions and many more we really need to help in anyway possible towards the eXtv donation drive, so once again I urge all of you viewers to chip in any amount of money you can – instead of getting drunk this weekend why not donate the nights beer fund towards this great event and get the chance of drinking these soft yanks under the table. Please check out the donation box at the top and give from your hearts, if you can’t chip in any money then you can still donate TF2 items to an auction which will go towards raising funds to the cause – check the link below. If we can get both American teams to i46 this summer it will surely go down as the greatest LAN ever seen for TF2 with
almost 400 people confirmed
in going so far!
